In the recent upgrade, we’ve introduced grander versions of these instruments in the game. This guide will walk you through the process of obtaining both the lavish and superior variants of these items, helping you amplify your rewards!

How to Find All New Ornate & Exceptional Instruments

At the outset, it’s important to mention that ornate and exceptional instruments are essentially upgraded versions of those currently available within the game. They boast improved visual appeal and offer enhanced benefits based on their rarity.

Fancy musical instruments yield a +2 advantage, whereas exceptional ones offer a +3 bonus, making it more beneficial for optimization if you’re aiming to max out. For those who are simply amassing them, our exploration will begin with the fancy ones, commencing with:

Item #1 – Ornate Hand Drum

As a keen explorer, I stumbled upon a stunning Ornate Hand Drum nestled within an underworld crypt, not far from the western entrance of the cave passage that leads to the ancient spire in the Nomad Highlands. Here’s a map to help you pinpoint its precise location.

Upon arrival, I’d suggest delving downwards towards the subterranean tombs. Navigate cautiously through the maze of traps and staircases that lie beneath, as they lead you ever deeper underground. Eventually, you might encounter an adversary who, upon my demise, would drop the Ornate Hand Drum.

Item #2 – Ornate Flute

Coming next, you’ll discover the beautiful flute known as the Ornate Flute at Surat’s Rest, located to the east of the ancient spire in Low Meadows. For your convenience, consult the map image provided below.

Upon entering the town, keep going straight until you pass an archway featuring a worn-out shield in its center. Further along, you’ll encounter a pair of staircases. Opt for the one situated to your left, followed by another set of stairs directly afterward.

Head towards the building on your right side and climb up the stairs inside until you find a big, open hole in the wall that leads to the neighboring rooftops. Then, jump to the rooftops situated to your left.

After passing some barrels and navigating among other wooden props, you will encounter a plate atop a box. Move towards it and discover your unique, luminous ornate flute, which stands out due to its glow on the plate.

Item #3 – Ornate Harp

As a gamer, I’d say: “I stumbled upon the beautiful Ornate Harp at the Vukah Outpost, which lies right south of the Umber Hollow. If you’re starting your journey from the ancient spire, make it the one in the Nomad Highlands for a more convenient exploration.

Climb up the big structure in this location until you reach a skinny wooden plank. After that, you’ll find some stairs immediately following it. Instead of ascending the next set of stairs, knock down the wooden barrier located directly beneath them.

After shattering the object, step inside the concealed chamber and retrieve the elegantly decorated harp, which lies amongst debris on the floor. Now, you may depart the outpost to seek the next treasure.

Item #4 – Ornate Lute

For our final elaborate artifact, we’re heading back to the ancient shrine in the Nomad Highlands. This time, you should head south from the shrine, roughly towards the area marked on the map below. That’s where the scavenger outpost can be found.

Step into the main building at the outpost’s tower and promptly face toward your left side. Behind two tiny barrels, you will find a stack of wooden planks on the ground. Push through this makeshift barricade to uncover a ladder that descends.

Descend the ladder and find yourself in a room with an eerie, fiery glow. In this chamber, you’ll notice the beautiful Ornate Lute resting on a chair, leaning against the floor. Grab it, and let’s proceed to the chapter about extraordinary musical artifacts!

Item #5 – Exceptional Hand Drum

For our first exceptional instrument, we will be going for the Exceptional Hand Drum. To find it, we will first need to travel to the hidden temple to the southeast of the Nomad Highlands ancient shrine. The entrance to this place can be found near a flame shrine.

One method to arrive at this place is by traversing through the two cave passages located southward from the position indicated on the map below. Upon reaching the illuminated area, you will find a closed door that you can access.

Walk through the doors and continue straight down the path, passing through any entrances or barriers as you go. Right at the end of this corridor, you’ll find a sarcophagus. Open it up to claim your own unique Exceptional Hand Drum.

Item #6 – Exceptional Flute

Moving forward, make your way to the secret temple hidden to the northeast of the ancient Kindlewastes spire for the Exceptional Flute. Similar to before, you’ll find a group of doors near the designated spot, which is located within a mysterious area.

Upon entering, you’ll have to navigate nimbly to bypass the fiery abyss beneath. Along your journey, locate and press buttons hidden under a series of radiant, yellow symbols for guidance.

After pressing both buttons, you’ll find a door opening on the ledge across from your initial temple entrance. This pathway will take you to another sarcophagus, where you can discover the Exceptional Flute hidden within.

Item #7 – Exceptional Lute

Just like the last two extraordinary instruments, the “Extraordinary Lute” is concealed within a secret temple once more. To locate it, make your way southward from the same old historic tower, similar to your previous journey. Have a look at the surrounding region of the marked location on the map provided:

As you step into the concealed sanctuary, go down the steps following your entry, and then make a right turn. You’ll notice another set of those yellow symbols, similar to the ones spotted in the previous temple, at the bend. Aim upward over the symbol to trigger it, and then delve further into the sanctuary.

By taking the stairway to your right, you’ll eventually end up in a corridor where there’s a glowing fireplace, or brazier, situated centrally. Beyond this warm fireplace, you’ll discover another control panel with a button that needs your touch.

As you make your way out from the hallway, notice a different button affixed to one of the columns holding up the upcoming bridge. Press it similarly to how you did with the first one, then continue across the bridge.

After crossing the bridge, make a left turn, and you’ll discover a button positioned above a luminous yellow symbol. Pressing this button grants you the ability to retrace your steps over the bridge again. At the other end of the bridge, you can now open the sarcophagus, which holds the Exceptional Lute.

Item #8 – Exceptional Harp

Lastly, the Exceptional Harp is uncommon yet straightforward to locate – simply navigate your way to the Ocean’s Heart encampment, which lies northeast of the ancient Kindlewastes spire. Keep in mind that you may encounter hostile forces upon arrival!

Upon arrival, make your way to the building located to your left as shown in the image below. Enter that structure and ascend the ladder you’ll find inside. The ‘Exceptional Harp’ will be resting against a chair on the rooftop. It’s quite visible from up there, so you can’t possibly miss it.

After you pick it up, here’s your reward: All the fresh tools just added to the game, even the top-tier ones unveiled in the latest update this month. Head back to your base now and let the music flow!
