In Monster Hunter Wilds, a significant emphasis is placed on the shifting weather patterns and environmental transformations found across different ecosystems.
Occasionally, a place may seem vibrant and lively; at other moments, it might unexpectedly appear drab and run-down, with overcast skies hinting at an impending storm.
In your comprehensive map of the location, you’ll find the depicted environmental elements. Interestingly, these aren’t just static; you can also alter these conditions, along with the time period. However, it’s important to note that this interactive feature isn’t a constant in the game Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Rest and Change Time of Day
To take a break and alter the time of day in Monster Hunter World, you can either head to your private tent at any base camp, utilize one of the portable campsites at various locations, or fire up your Portable Cooking Pot (which is also used for preparing meal items that boost stats).
- Hit the Rest button underneath the BBQ Menu section.
- From here, choose which environment you want: No Change, Plenty, Fallow, or Inclemency (~more on that below!)
- Choose the time of day as well: Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Nighttime.
- Pay the required Guild Points (earned on hunts) to complete the process.
- If you’re not a camp, you’ll be returned to one after the locale resets.
It’s important to mention that while you’re engaged in your adventure, you have the option to modify the time of day or surrounding location. However, there are instances within the main storyline where adjusting the world isn’t possible.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Plenty, Fallow, and Inclemency Changes Explained

For individuals unfamiliar with the distinctions among these landscapes, we’ve taken care of the heavy lifting! Feel free to peruse the pictures above showcasing the Windward Plains.
On the left, you see the scene under the condition of abundance; the center image represents a fallow period, and the final one depicts the time of harshness or adversity.
- As you can see, an area during the Plenty status will be sunny and full of life.
- The Fallow environment will make things a little cloudy, dusty, and dreary.
- And, of course, you can expect inclement weather, like thunderstorms, during the Inclemency status.
