Eric Bana stars in suspenseful trailer for Netflix’s Yosemite murder mystery Untamed

I’m thrilled to share that the six-episode series I’ve been eagerly anticipating will drop on my calendar next on Thursday, 17th July 2025. Alongside me, you’ll get to see acting greats like Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago, and Wilson Bethel bring their talents to the screen. Can’t wait!

In simpler terms, the official summary for Untamed describes it as a thrilling mystery centered around National Park Service agent Kyle Turner (played by Eric Bana) and a fresh ranger named Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago). Together, they delve into a puzzling death that occurred in Yosemite, revealing hidden truths about the park and their individual histories.

Netflix has disclosed some specifics about the characters portrayed by the supporting actors. Neill will be playing Paul Souter, the head park ranger in Yosemite, while DeWitt will take on the role of Jill Bodwin, Turner’s former spouse, who used to be a teacher and park counselor.

I, myself, am Shane Maguire, once a soldier on an army range, now serving as the Wildlife Management Officer in this picturesque park.

In a departure from his recent film appearances in “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” and “A Sacrifice,” Bana will be taking on his first TV role since “Dirty John” in 2018 with the series “Untamed.

The creators behind “Untamed” are Mark L Smith and his daughter, Elle Smith, with Mark L Smith being responsible for the creation of yet another Netflix series launched this year titled “American Primeval”.
