Eric Dane Shares Whether He Will Pause on Working Amid ALS Battle

Eric Dane won’t be slowed down by his ALS diagnosis.

Despite being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, at 52 years old, he has no intention of slowing down his acting career. He expressed this in an exclusive interview with TopMob News through his Countdown costar Jensen Ackles, stating, “I plan to keep going until the brakes give out.

Because of this, Eric felt excited about collaborating with Jensen on the Amazon MGM Studios series. In his own words, he expressed, “This partnership helps me stay agile and progressive, which is crucial at this moment in time.

As a committed worker, I find myself thriving when I’m on the job. Admittedly, there have been moments of challenge, but overall, I maintain a sense of contentment. My spirit remains resilient, ensuring that by the close of each day, that’s what truly counts.

Regarding Jensen, he shared the same level of enthusiasm about collaborating with Eric, who made his ALS diagnosis public in April.

Eric and I both began our careers around the same period, as the former Supernatural star explained. We’ve had an early start in our respective careers, which gives us a shared understanding and work experience within the industry that is quite alike.

According to Jensen, that led the two to “having too much fun” on set together.

When the executives arrive on set, it feels more like, “Alright everyone, let’s tone things down a bit. We don’t want to give off the impression that we’re having too much fun,” he joked, noting that he and Eric clicked right away.

Furthermore, Jensen noted that Eric’s leadership style was both beautiful and quiet, which proved to be incredibly beneficial for the crime drama. The series also features Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Uli Latukefu, and Elliot Knight in its cast.

He also mentioned that it was extremely helpful for the team building process, whether it was being done in front of or behind the cameras.

With the grand debut of “Countdown” nearly upon us, Eric has shifted his enthusiasm towards other ventures, such as the eagerly awaited third season of “Euphoria”.

“I’ve shot already,” the actor teased. “It’s good.”

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that starting from June 25th, the first three installments of “Countdown” will be unveiled exclusively on Prime Video. Each subsequent episode will follow suit every week, culminating in the season finale on Sept. 3rd. So mark your calendars and get ready for a captivating ride!
