HBO programs spark global conversations, tracing back to the original blockbusters such as “The Sopranos” and “Sex and the City.” The latter has returned on our screens with the latest series “And Just Like That…,” accessible for Max subscribers. With a new season approaching, Kristin Davis recently shared a discarded idea for an episode that I can only hope comes to fruition someday.
Information regarding Season 3 of “And Just Like That” is scarce, but its premiere on the streaming platform is imminent within just a few days. Although we’ll be sad to see Sara Ramirez’s character Che Diaz absent in this new installment, the original trio are expected to return. In an interview with EW about the upcoming episodes, the actress portraying Charlotte shared a tale about Charlotte and her daughter Lily that didn’t make it into this season. As she put it:
(The actress) spoke about a story involving Charlotte and her daughter Lily in Season 3 that did not ultimately get included.
At one point, Michael Patrick contemplated a plan: We might travel to China so Lily could revisit the place of her adoption origins. What an exciting prospect! I’m not sure if it’s feasible. Every trip they take is always enjoyable, but I do recall a strong sentiment after the second movie that they should never leave New York again, which was disheartening. However, we adore New York, and it’s delightful to explore new destinations. Frankly, I yearn for us to visit anywhere; it would be wonderful.
In essence, I was looking forward to the unfolding of Davis’ heartwarming tale alongside Lily in “And Just Like That”. It would have been delightful for “Sex and the City” enthusiasts to witness the girls embarking on another journey together as well.

On Max, you can stream both “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That.” For as low as $9.99 per month, opt for their Ads plan. They offer three tiers of service following your subscription. Additionally, by prepaying for a year, you could save up to 20%. Check out this deal!
In the series “And Just Like That,” both Lily and Brady, the characters, are gradually taking on more significant roles. Given Lily’s background, a journey to China to rekindle her roots would have been fitting. Unfortunately, we’ll need to stay tuned to find out what adventures Charlotte and her daughter will embark upon next.
I’m quite fond of arranging opportunities for the original trio from “Sex and the City,” along with their more recent counterparts, to embark on an extraordinary journey together. They’ve created some unforgettable scenes in this series, like the Mexico trip in the first movie and almost all of “Sex and the City 2.” Given that, a journey to China seems like a perfect pretext to carry on that tradition for Lily.

Many people are eagerly awaiting the third season of the spinoff series of SATC, as they have a complex mix of admiration and criticism towards And Just Like That. This seemingly paradoxical response has only added to its allure. A variety of fans, both old and new, are drawn to catch glimpses of the original cast members, along with the fresh faces that have joined the franchise.
Indeed, there’s been quite a buzz about Season 3, with many wondering if we might see Samantha Jones again. After all, Kim Cattrall made a short appearance in Season 2, delighting fans and potentially hinting at further, brief interactions in the future.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens when the third season of And Just Like That starts, which is set to premiere on May 29th as part of the 2025 TV season lineup. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a China trip in the upcoming season.
