Rumi Carter is feeling her power on stage.

During Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, the seven-year-old has captivated audiences, showcasing her excitement as she performed alongside her mom and older sister Blue Ivy Carter on stage for “Protector.” Recently, it was revealed by Tina Knowles what little Rumi thought during her memorable performance.

71-year-old Tina shared during a stop on her “Matriarch” book tour in Brooklyn, New York on May 19th, that she had learned from her granddaughter Rumi: “Rumi told me, ‘I feel powerful when I wave and everyone screams.’ My response was, ‘Oh, I understand now.’

During their latest tour stop, Tina and Rumi enjoyed a private moment together. Meanwhile, Beyoncé – mother of 7-year-old Sir Carter with Jay-Z – invited her mom onto the stage alongside Rumi and Blue. She took this opportunity to publicly acknowledge her mom’s achievement, as her memoir had just reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestsellers list.

During her speech at the Los Angeles event on May 1, the “16 Carriages” singer seemed to have an exchange with her mother, Rumi, which was interrupted by Tina. Initially, it appeared as if Tina was scolding Rumi, but she later clarified what actually transpired.

During her concert in Brooklyn, she playfully remarked, “That was genuine, that was real life. Grandmas don’t act like this,” after mistakingly grabbing the microphone. “No, it wasn’t as dramatic as it seemed. She was simply trying to take the microphone to speak, and I realized that. However, she was pulling on it, and in my mind, I thought ‘Oh no, if the microphone hits her, they’ll say ‘Beyonce accidentally hit her.’

For Tina, the chance to share the stage with her girls was beautiful.

She mentioned that it was truly unique for her to join in, along with Blue and Rumi. For her, it was an entirely fresh viewpoint because she’s typically backstage. She added that it was genuinely enjoyable and thrilling.

Tina cherishes a unique connection with each of her grandchildren, yet she felt an extraordinary sense of pride when it came to Rumi, as he mirrored his aunt’s path – Blue performs on her mother’s tour as a dancer – by gracing the stage every evening.

Tina expressed her immense pride for Rumi to TopMob News in April, stating that all of her grandchildren, each and every one, are truly exceptional.
