Starting this summer, South Park is planning to stream on a different platform, Paramount+, after its contract with HBO Max ends in July. However, there’s been some controversy regarding the potential banning of many classic episodes from the show when it transitions. The specifics of how this will play out are still unclear, as it remains undecided whether HBO Max can continue to host the series under a new non-exclusive agreement. Additionally, there’s a possibility that further complications could arise in the near future.
Amongst enthusiasts of the show “South Park”, a significant concern arises prior to its new streaming debut on Paramount+: the possibility of additional episodes being unavailable. Although several episodes of South Park have been deemed too controversial for broadcast or online distribution, some reports suggest that there are significantly more episodes missing from the Paramount+ streaming service, as indicated by fans in the UK and other regions, which might extend to its US release. This could potentially limit the series’ availability on the platform.
More South Park Episodes to Reportedly Be Banned From Streaming
As per the alleged list of episodes that might be barred, it’s being suggested that certain episodes of “South Park” aren’t accessible for streaming on Paramount+ in regions such as the United Kingdom and Ireland at this time.
- “Big Gay Al’s Boat Ride” Season 1, Episode 4
- “Terrance And Phillip In Not Without My Anus” Season 2, Episode 1
- “Pip/Great Expectations” Season 4, Episode 14
- “Super Best Friends” Season 5, Episode 3
- “Jared Has Aides” Season 6, Episode 2
- “Simpsons Did It” Season 6, Episode 7
- “Cancelled” Season 7, Episode 1
- “Passion Of The Jew” Season 8, Episode 3
- “You Got F’d In The A” Season 8, Episode 4
- “Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow” Season 9, Episode 8
- “Trapped In The Closet” Season 9, Episode 12
- “Cartoon Wars 1 & 2” Season 10, Episodes 3 and 4
- “200 & 201” Season 14, Episodes 5 and 6
- “Jewpacabra” Season 16, Episode 4
- “Ginger Cow” Season 17, Episode 6
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to delve into the fascinating world of restricted episodes within my favorite series! The “200” episode special, “Super Best Friends,” and both parts of “Cartoon Wars” have been off-limits for broadcast and online releases for quite some time. Come Summertime on Paramount+, I’m eagerly anticipating if these elusive episodes will finally find their way to the streaming platform!
Will These South Park Episodes Be Banned?
As of now, Paramount+ has not released an official comment regarding the potential banning of certain South Park episodes scheduled for July. If the series continues on HBO Max, a number of these episodes are accessible through that platform. Interestingly, some of these very same episodes are also often broadcast on Comedy Central, making it challenging to understand why these specific episodes might have been targeted.
South Park, known for its bold approach in addressing sensitive topics, has a history of pushing boundaries. However, certain episodes might have crossed some lines. Despite this, these controversial episodes have been available on streaming platforms before. Now, the addition of South Park to Paramount+’s library in the U.S. could bring one of the most significant changes yet to the franchise.
