Authorities are revealing the contents of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ hotel room.
During the fifth day of the music mogul’s court case, which involves accusations of racketeering, sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for prostitution, the prosecution presented images taken from Combs’ room at New York’s Park Hyatt hotel at the time of his arrest on September 16.
The photos presented during Special Agent Yasin Binda’s testimony (who also captured these images) and obtained by NBC News, depicted several items such as:
1. Ziploc bags containing baby oil and Astroglide lubricant.
2. Five bottles of baby oil in the bathtub of the bathroom.
3. Two additional bottles of lubricant found in a drawer.
4. Two bags filled with a pink powdery substance.
5. A bag holding $9,000 in cash.
These items were part of the evidence presented during the trial.
In a prescription bottle for Clonazepam, two bags (one of them pink) were discovered, as reported by Agent Binda. These bags contained substances that later tested positive for ketamine, as well as a combination of ketamine and MDMA.
According to Agenta Binda’s testimony on NBC News, the money was discovered in a black shoulder bag suspended from the bed in the room. She additionally pointed out several bags suggesting a female occupant and a lighting fixture that she described as possibly creating a romantic ambiance.
In September, federal agents apprehended Combs within the lobby of the Park Hyatt in New York City. Initially, the reasons for his arrest were concealed in the indictment; however, it was unsealed the day after, disclosing the allegations against him, which he has since rejected and pleaded innocent to.
During the 55-year-old’s apprehension, his legal representative, Marc Agnifilo, informed TopMob News that Combs decided to move to New York City on his own accord, in preparation for the upcoming charges.
The speaker asked for patience in forming opinions, stating that it’s important to wait until all information is available. They described the individual as blameless, having no secrets, and eager to prove his innocence in a court of law.
As stated by the lawyer, the rapper has been “entirely cooperative during this investigation.” Furthermore, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for pursuing what they perceive as an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs. They emphasized that while he is not perfect, he is not a criminal.
In spite of Combs initially denying the accusations at that time, it was indeed his trial that started on May 12, with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura testifying, along with other witnesses.
For the revelations that have emerged from the trial so far, keep reading.
(TopMob News and NBC News are both part of NBCUniversal.)
On May 19th, a close acquaintance of Cassie Ventura testified that she personally observed Sean “Diddy” Combs physically abusing Ventura during their trip to Jamaica, as well as at a rental property in the Hollywood Hills when they were residing there.
Kerry Morgan stated that her 17-year friendship with Ventura ended following an attack by Combs at his apartment in 2018. According to NBC News, this incident occurred while they were listening to music together. Morgan recounted that Combs suddenly approached from behind, choked her, leaving marks on her neck, and struck her on the head with a wooden hanger. At the time, Cassie was in the bathroom, and the blow landed behind Morgan’s right ear.
In the course of the conversation, it was mentioned that she retained a lawyer, yet chose not to file a lawsuit. Furthermore, she consented to putting her signature on a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), all for the sum of $30,000.
According to Morgan’s testimony, it has been silent between us since then, as my last conversation with Sean was on the night of the incident, and the last time I encountered Cassie was when I put my signature on the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Apart from testifying under subpoena, Morgan stated clearly that she has chosen to move forward with her life, but decided to appear in court for this particular occasion.
She stated that she suggested Ventura should part ways with Combs, but she was unable to do so due to her work commitments, her vehicle, and her residence.
During questioning by lawyer Marc Agnifilo, Morgan stated that she ceased communication with Ventura as he was unsupportive following the 2018 event. She further clarified that she had established a boundary against any form of physical abuse.
Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, stated on May 16th that she observed her ex-boyfriend, Ventura, chasing after him with a skillet filled with eggs in the year 2009.
In my own words, I’d say, “I descended the stairs in a rage, searching for my eggs, and angrily questioning Cassie about her supposed mistakes. I exclaimed, ‘Where on earth are my eggs and why can’t you ever get things right?’ In the courtroom, as reported by the Washington Post, I continued, ‘And then, he approached the skillet where his eggs were cooking and tried to strike me over the head. This caused me to fall to the ground.’
Ventura “went into the fetal position,” Richard continued, “literally trying to hide her head.”
During the testimony on May 15, Ventura stated that there were no drugs blended with the baby oil which Combs preferred for his “freak offs” sessions, as confirmed by him having only the oil present.
2024 saw a lawsuit accusing Combs of adding GHB (commonly known as the “date rape drug”) to the oil he supplied in October.
During the questioning under defense, Ventura stated on May 15th that Combs could become envious and react in a fiery manner whenever she consumed drugs with others instead of himself.
She stated that Combs had previously suffered an overdose from painkillers. When questioned by defense attorney Anna Estevao about whether her former partner’s mood changes were linked to the medication, Ventura replied affirmatively, stating that it was indeed a factor.
Previously inquired about whether Combs seemed like a drug addict, she responded, “I’d describe him as someone who had addiction issues.
Her response affirmed that Combs did indeed get upset or agitated during his withdrawal phase.
“I’m not a doctor,” Ventura said, but “coming off of certain pills he would be pretty irritated.”
During Ventura’s time on the witness stand on May 15, Judge Arun Subramanian temporarily halted proceedings as Combs’ defense presented graphic emails and text messages during their cross-examination.
When lawyer Estevao showed sexually suggestive texts exchanged by the ex-pair dating back to 2009 to prove their mutual consent in their relationship, the defense objected, and the court agreed with this objection.
After the objection, it appeared that Ventura was conversing quietly with the judge, prompting the official to unexpectedly announce a 10-minute recess.
Before the jury’s arrival, a vigorous discussion flared up between prosecution and defense attorneys, with the main defense lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, insisting on presenting additional texts in the court. However, the judge pointed out that certain messages contradicted federal guidelines regarding evidence.
Nevertheless, several pieces of evidence were allowed, containing explicit accounts of Combs and Ventura discussing their intimate relationships.
Nonetheless, various items of proof were accepted, including discussions where Combs and Ventura described their sexual activities in detail.
On May 15th, Ventura stated that although she couldn’t definitively say exactly how many instances, she referred to as “freak offs,” she participated in with Combs, she estimated it to be around hundreds.
In my professional opinion, I’ve found myself in a situation where an ex-partner recorded our intimate moments with the intention of using them for blackmail. They threatened me, saying they would make those recordings public, thereby potentially damaging my career prospects.
Ventura expressed that he would bring up the issue when he felt upset about something, as it was a frequent occurrence. However, it was a situation that filled him with fear for both his career and family. He found it all incredibly humiliating, describing it as terrible and appalling. No one deserves to be treated in such a manner.
Testified on May 14, Ventura stated that she received a $20 million settlement from her former boyfriend, Combs, following a lawsuit she filed against him in November 2023. In this lawsuit, she accused him of sexually assaulting and physically abusing her throughout their relationship.
Testifying about events from 2018, Ventura claimed that following a pleasant dinner at a Malibu restaurant with Combs, he later allegedly sexually assaulted her after taking her back to her apartment. She was in a relationship with Alex Fine at the time, whom she eventually married in 2019.
Inside, he entered and violently assaulted me on the living room carpet, she testified in court. I recall sobbing and repeatedly telling him ‘no,’ but it happened swiftly. His eyes appeared dark, almost as if he wasn’t himself; it was as though a part of me had been stolen.
As a die-hard admirer, I’d like to clarify something about the allegations against Combs. His legal team has consistently asserted that he never partook in any non-consensual intimacy. They believe that those who have accused him of sexually charged misconduct willingly participated in whatever sexual activities they were involved in.
Ventura stated that she engaged in consensual sexual activity with Combs on another occasion following the alleged assault. When questioned about her decision to have sex with Combs again, she explained, “You can’t simply switch off feelings like that. I still held a positive image of who he was as an individual.
In late 2011, Ventura ended her relationship with Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, due to threats made against him by Combs, which allegedly involved plans to destroy his vehicle.
Ventura expressed to the court that there was excessive risk and ambiguity regarding potential outcomes should they continue their meetings. He stated that Sean had threatened to cause harm to both of them.
Departures from Ventura were associated with instances of urinary tract infections, mouth ulcers, and digestive problems, as she stated on May 14.
In her testimony, Ventura stated that we often had multiple instances where she referred to them as ‘freak offs’, and these events were happening one after another. On some occasions, I even had a ‘freak off’ while infected. I attempted to clean it out using water. Eventually, the antibiotic CIPRO became ineffective. The situation had become quite chaotic.
She continued, “It was really painful for a long time. I can’t believe I actually dealt with that.”
I’m sorry.
On his second day of testimony, Ventura described the 2016 hotel incident that was captured on CCTV cameras and broadcast by CNN in May 2024.
She stated that Combs hurled a vase at her following an attempt to depart from the Intercontinental Hotel, prior to physically attacking her.
During his testimony on May 14th, Ventura stated that the vase seemed to be moving towards him. It struck the wall instead of him. He recalls being yelled at but can’t specifically remember what he was being called, other than it wasn’t his actual name.
However, she said that Combs told her “that I wasn’t going to leave him, that I couldn’t.”
Immediately following the hotel incident, Ventura mentioned that she had to appear at the premiere of her movie “The Perfect Match” with Combs, sporting bruises across her face and body. To conceal her swollen eye and split lip, she needed to heavily apply makeup. Furthermore, she stated, “I had multiple bruises on my legs, so I altered my outfit.
On May 13, the singer declared under oath that Sean Combs assaulted her in a Los Angeles hotel corridor back in March 2016, as he was enraged over her departure from a “freak-off” incident. (Footage of the event recorded by hotel security cameras was made public by CNN in 2024. The defense, however, failed to prevent this video from being admitted as evidence.)
In response to the court, Ventura explained, “I decided to depart, and Sean accompanied me into the corridor. He seized me, pushed me down, kicked me, and dragged me back to the room before taking my belongings.
She initially didn’t wish to take part, but she had a film premiere scheduled a few days ahead and wanted to keep Combs happy. In her words, “If I could satisfy him by performing exceptionally well,” Ventura said, “then my event would proceed without a hitch.
After he inflicted a black eye on her, she added, “At that moment, all I could focus on was escaping there safely. I had an important event coming up and I didn’t want to ruin it.” As he shoved her to the floor in the hallway, Ventura mentioned, she remained down since “I didn’t want him to cause any more harm than he already had.
Testified Ventura, she consumed alcohol and ecstasy during her initial sexual encounter with an escort in the presence of Combs. To endure what she referred to as “freak offs,” she admitted using marijuana, ketamine, mushrooms, or whatever drug was popularly used at that time.
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that without having some sort of buffer,” she said.
At times, she’d become so upset that she’d literally retch during heated arguments, Ventura explained, and Combs would motivate me to keep going despite this.
She expressed to Combs that the hurtful remarks left her feeling extremely bad about herself, even worthless, according to Ventura. However, he seemed to disregard her worries with a rather indifferent response.
Following an unusual incident, it was stated in court that baby oil would be found throughout the hotel room, and if Combs had ordered someone to wet the bed, there might be urine stains on the linens. Furthermore, if she was experiencing her period at the time, there could also be blood traces on the sheets and furniture.
In my own words, I’d express it as: “Experiencing being urinated on left me feeling deeply humiliated. It was an appalling and overwhelming situation – one I never wanted to find myself in. I reacted instinctively, struggling to cope.
According to Ventura, it was something that excited him, which led to the event occurring. When Emily A. Johnson, the prosecutor, asked her why she didn’t resist Combs’ instructions in these instances, she stated that she believed it was clear that she did not wish to comply with them.
On the 13th of May, Ventura asserted that Combs instructed her and the other “freak off” performers to apply baby oil all over their bodies.
She stated in court that Sean preferred it hot and shiny, so we applied heat and polish every five minutes.
At the Montage Beverly Hills, during a surprising incident, Ventura stated that Combs invited her to enter an inflatable pool filled with baby oil, all while she was dressed in clothing.
Even though she wasn’t keen on it, if Sean Combs felt it was necessary, that’s exactly what would transpire, she emphasized. “We employed a total of ten standard-sized bottles of baby oil,” she added.
On May 13th, Ventura disclosed to prosecutors that in the initial phase of her ten-year relationship with Combs, he suggested incorporating voyeurism into their intimate activities. This started when she arranged for an escort and set up a scenario so she could perform for Combs, who would observe her interacting with another person.
Over time, performing sex acts that Combs referred to as “freak offs”, lasting anything from 36 hours to four days, effectively became her line of work.
She remembered, “I arranged for it in our hotel room, and so on, at first, Sean had organized it.
Ventura said that her “stomach churned” when he first proposed the experience.
She admitted, “I didn’t initially understand how it would arouse him, but I took on the duty.” She confessed, “I was perplexed, anxious, yet deeply cared for him and wished to bring joy into his life. It wasn’t my preferred activity, especially given its frequency, but still, I was in love and desired to please him.
She admitted, “At some point, I felt I didn’t have much of a choice.”
In the years spanning from 2007 to 2018, Ventura claimed that she often experienced violence from Combs when they were together.
She informed the jury that the disagreements between them were indeed intense, often escalating into physical violence which included hitting her head, pushing her down, dragging her, and kicking her.
She mentioned that her injuries were frequently noticeable, explaining, “I’d frequently have lumps on my forehead, swollen eyes – both black and red, and various bruises covering my entire body.
On May 13th, Ventura was set to testify following Daniel Philip, and Combs’ defense asked that she be seated in the witness box prior to the jury’s arrival, as she is eight months pregnant for comfort reasons during the court proceedings.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo expressed to the judge that he perceives a bias, saying, “I believe there’s an element of sentiment involved,” emphasizing that pregnancy carries a sense of beauty and evokes empathy.
Ventura joined the case later on, with the jury already chosen, implying that his legal team’s motion had been denied previously.
On one particular instance when Ventura didn’t immediately respond to Combs’ call, Philip testified on May 12 that Combs angrily hurled a liquor bottle towards her, then forcefully grabbed her by the hair and dragged her into the bedroom. “She was screaming,” Philip recounted, and from another room, it sounded like he was hitting her. Philip also mentioned hearing Combs say, “‘I tell you to come here, you come here now, not later.’
Phillip said he was “terrified” and did not intervene.
He went on to confirm that he also heard what seemed like Combs physically abusing Ventura in another incident at the Essex House hotel in New York. “I distinctly remember hearing her saying ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’, followed by sounds of someone being struck and thrown around the room,” Phillip stated. “Peeking around the corner, I observed Mr. Combs leaving the hotel completely bare, possibly wrapped in a towel.
Ventura exited the room and landed on Philip’s lap, as he testified. He went on to say, “She was attempting to assure me that everything would be alright, and that she herself would be fine.” To which he responded, “It’s not alright and you need professional help.
“I tried to explain to her that she was in real danger if she stayed with him,” Phillip said.
During questioning by prosecutor Maureen Comey, Philip explained that he didn’t contact the police because he viewed Combs as someone with immense authority. He implied that even if he had reported the issue to the police, there was a possibility that his life could still be in danger.
Daniel Philip stated under oath that during the specified period, he was operating a male striptease show. He claimed to have received a substantial sum of money, approximately “a few thousand dollars,” for engaging in sexual acts with Ventura, while Combs observed at New York City’s Gramercy Hotel in 2012. Philip recognized Combs by his voice, even though Combs was wearing a robe, a baseball cap, and a bandanna concealing his face.
Philip testified that Ventura promised to tip him later, but first they engaged in sexual activity. They massaged baby oil onto each other for a while before Combs, who was seated in a corner, masturbated.
Afterward, the witness continued, Ventura gave him “a couple of thousand more.”
Philip shared that during the subsequent year, he received repeated invitations for similar experiences involving both Ventura and Combs at various hotels and their homes in New York City. He claimed that Combs videotaped him and Ventura engaging in intimate acts on one or two occasions. At times, according to Philip, Combs would step in and engage with Ventura while Philip was present.
In my professional perspective as a lifestyle advisor, it’s essential to address the disturbing allegations made by Ventura in her 2023 lawsuit against her former partner, Combs. The lawsuit accuses him of forcing her into non-consensual sexual acts with male prostitutes, which is a deeply concerning matter that demands attention and respectful discussion.
According to Florez’s testimony, Ventura appeared frightened. She had huddled in the corner, with her hood pulled over her head and her body concealed. Her face wasn’t visible, and she remained hidden in the corner. Nearby, there was a shattered flower vase.
After Ventura departed from the hotel, she sported a noticeable purple eye according to Florez’s statement. Following her exit, Florez and the hotel manager went up to the room to discuss hotel regulations with Combs, as Florez recounted. Combs believed that the manager was secretly filming him on his phone, so he attempted to seize it, Florez added. In response, Combs tried to take Floreze’s phone too, but Florez said he restrained Combs against a wall. “We clarified that we weren’t recording him,” Florez testified, “and resolved the situation peacefully.
In court, the prosecution presented a slowed-down version of the CCTV footage showing Combs seemingly striking, kicking, and pulling Ventura – a clip that was initially published by CNN in May 2024, which the defense had previously claimed was sped up to exaggerate the violence. Additionally, the jury watched video footage captured by Florez on his phone when he responded to a distress call from a woman on the sixth floor. This footage had been recorded prior to the incident.
Florez stated that he didn’t contact the authorities immediately since Ventura refused to discuss what had transpired and indicated she merely wished to depart.
Police Officer Israel Florez, stationed in Los Angeles, previously served as a security guard at the InterContinental Hotel. It was during this time that the incident involving Combs and Ventura occurred on March 5, 2016. In her opening statement, Geragos characterized the surveillance footage of the attack – initially released by CNN in May 2024 – as “compelling evidence of domestic violence.” However, he clarified that this evidence was not solely related to allegations of sex trafficking; rather, it stemmed from infidelity uncovered on a cell phone.
On May 12th, Florez testified that he observed a scuffle on the day in question, and subsequently, Combs provided him with a pile of cash to ignore what happened.
During questioning, Florez stated that he was absolutely convinced the gesture was intended by Combs as an attempt at bribery.
In her initial remarks, defense lawyer Teny Geragos asserted that the prosecution is attempting to transform consensual sexual activities into instances of sex trafficking. However, he expressed his belief that this attempt will ultimately be unsuccessful.
“Sean Combs is a complicated man,” she said, “but this is not a complicated case.”
In Geragos’ words, “The focus here is on the private, intimate aspects of Sean Combs’ personal life, which hold no relevance to his legitimate professional ventures.
In her testimony to the court, she made it clear that her client had a history of aggressive behavior, substance abuse, and anger problems. However, it’s important to remember that he is not on trial for being rude or unpleasant. The charges do not pertain to his personality traits; they concern specific actions for which he stands accused.
As an utterly captivated admirer, let me share this intriguing perspective: Geragos implied that the evidence will reveal a deeply imperfect person, yet it won’t portray them as a criminal mastermind in racketeering, sex trafficking, or someone involved in transporting for prostitution.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d put it this way: In my professional opinion, I find myself compelled to highlight that, on multiple accounts, I’ve accused Defendant Combs of orchestrating an intricate web of employees to execute illicit activities. These acts, as vividly portrayed in the federal indictment, allegedly included extended “freak offs.” The details of these incidents were shared by reporters from NBC News who were present during the court proceedings.
On occasion, he referred to himself as a monarch, demanding treatment befitting such a title for his whims,” she informed the court. “He allegedly utilized his businesses to coerce women into sexual acts with male escorts in his presence. He and his closest associates ensured that all his desires were fulfilled.
Johnson commenced her case presentation to the jury, portraying Combs as an extraordinarily influential figure who oversaw a criminal organization.
In an attempt to prove his accusations, Johnson informed the jury that Bad Boys Record’s founder, Combs, was actively seeking out Ventura one evening following news of her new romantic involvement with someone else. Johnson claimed that Combs had brutally assaulted Ventura, kicking her repeatedly in the back and carelessly tossing her around as if she were a doll made of rags, after discovering her.
She went on to say that he had made a threat against her, stating that if she disobeyed him once more, he would publish videos of her intimate moments with male escorts – memories of the most shameful nights in her life.
The prosecutor alleged that Combs’ inner circle covered up “crime after crime.”
As a devoted follower of this trial, I share with you that Judge Arun Subramanian has given us an optimistic outlook. He expressed his hope that we may reach a conclusion by July 4th. However, he also cautioned that the trial might extend beyond this date, but he doesn’t anticipate it will.
On his initial court date for the sex trafficking case on May 12th, Janice Combs, along with six of his oldest children, were by his side.
Quincy Brown, Christian “King” Combs, Jessie Combs, D’Lila Combs (Kim Porter’s kids), Justin Combs (Misa Hylton’s son), and Chance Combs (Sarah Chapman’s daughter) – all of whom are his children from previous relationships – had the opportunity to embrace their father before he sat down with his lawyers.
In their arrangement, both the prosecution and Drew Combs’ legal team decided on a main jury consisting of eight men and four women, along with four male and two female alternates, for use during the trial if needed.
Marc Agnifilo, representing Combs, contended that the prosecution seemed to be deliberately excluding prospective Black jurors. He suggested this trend could indicate a need for justification behind these dismissals.
Nevertheless, Prosecutor Maurene Ryan Comey refuted the allegations, stating, “We’ve acted impartially throughout, and our jury is a mix of various ethnicities, including several non-white members.
The jury consists of twelve members, some of whom reside in New York City or Westchester. The group includes a 69-year-old male actor who also practices massage therapy, a 31-year-old male investment analyst, a 51-year-old male scientist, a 30-year-old female deli clerk, a 42-year-old female nursing home aide, a 41-year-old male communications clerk at a correctional facility, a 68-year-old retired banker, another 68-year-old retiree from the telecommunications industry, a 43-year-old female physician assistant, a 39-year-old male social worker, a 67-year-old male logistics analyst, and a 74-year-old female treatment coordinator.
