Jennifer Lopez’ love for her kids don’t cost a thing.

Indeed, when it comes to Jennifer Lopez’s heartwarming relationship with her twins Max and Emme, who she co-parents with ex-husband Marc Anthony, it seems these 17-year-olds frequently fail to recognize that their mom is a renowned pop star and the upcoming host of the American Music Awards on May 26.

Jennifer shared with Francesca Amiker of E News during an exclusive interview that she seems more like a mom to them, so they aren’t overly involved with her work. In fact, they are unaware of many aspects of her career, such as the American Music Awards. It isn’t until dinner conversations that she fills them in on her recent achievements.

In their final year of high school, the twins have their sights set on graduating and preparing for college.

Jennifer went on to say that their discussions revolve around school. They discuss their classmates, assignments, and ensuring tasks are completed. They also talk about their well-being and feelings.

She continued, “They don’t quite grasp the concept of ‘Mommy will be performing here tomorrow,'” she said. Instead, they simply understand it as, “Mommy has a job to do tomorrow.

However, there was a special instance when the “Let’s Get Loud” artist traveled to New York City with the intention of surprising John Kander, the composer of the original music for her upcoming film adaptation of “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” on his 98th birthday. To accomplish this surprise, she took to a Broadway stage and sang one of his compositions.

Upon arriving home, the actress who portrayed Selena excitedly shared with her children about her recent achievement. Her daughter, Emme, looked at her in astonishment, and their eyes sparkled. Both of them became particularly intrigued by this new endeavor.

Jennifer remembered that she went up to their room and overheard some music. It turned out they had discovered the authentic soundtrack for ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ featuring Chita Rivera, which they were playing in their room.

She went on to say, “I recall wondering, ‘Am I making you proud?’ They responded, ‘We couldn’t be prouder. We couldn’t be prouder.’ Yet, they soon retired to their room, and when left unguarded, I sensed them listening intently. This resonated deeply within me because it was evident that what I had done left an imprint, and there’s nothing quite as rewarding as making an impact on one’s children.

Even for someone as accomplished as a two-time Grammy nominee, winning over a teenager is often no easy task.

She pointed out, “Your children can be your harshest critics.” This is significant because as teenagers, they may view you as the least trendy person around. They seem indifferent to your actions and interests. However, when this idea was presented, it made me realize, ‘Ah, they do pay attention.’
