As a long-time fan of the gritty and gripping world of John Carpenter’s “Escape from New York,” the news of its Limited Edition 4K UltraHD Steelbook release has sent shivers of excitement down my spine. I remember the first time I watched this cult classic, huddled around a grainy VHS player, my heart pounding in anticipation as Snake Plissken (the indomitable Kurt Russell) embarked on his perilous mission to save the President from the crime-ridden ruins of Manhattan.


The timeless masterpiece, “Escape from New York,” directed by John Carpenter, is about to hit shelves as a Limited Edition 4K UltraHD Steelbook + Blu-ray. Its arrival is imminent! Picture it’s 1997. Snake Plissken (played by Kurt Russell), a former Special Forces operative now turned criminal, finds himself bound for the heavily fortified Manhattan, which serves as a maximum-security prison. When the President of the United States gets kidnapped and crash lands within, it’s up to someone to retrieve him. Who better for the task than Snake? With death by explosives looming over him, Snake is tasked with rescuing the president and escaping the crime-ridden New York City!
