Eternal Flower Floette: The Unreleased Pokemon Finally Returning in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

In today’s Pokemon Presents, The Pokemon Company unveiled fresh details about the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Reminiscent of Pokemon X and Y, this new title takes inspiration from several aspects seen in that generation. A key element being the reappearance of character AZ, along with his companion Floette. For those who have played either Pokemon X or Y, this is quite significant. AZ was a crucial figure, and his unique Floette form, which has never been accessible in any Pokemon game, adds to the excitement. The latest trailer hints that this might be the first time players could get their hands on it.

In the game “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, the player’s main hub will be Hotel Z, a fresh addition in Lumiose City. AZ manages this hotel along with his companion, Eternal Flower Floette. This is the first appearance of either character since the conclusion of “Pokemon X and Y”. Although players were able to catch several versions of Floette in those games, the Eternal Flower Floette remains unattainable.

Despite Floette Eternal never having been obtainable, its sprite has appeared in Pokemon Home, hinting at The Pokemon Company’s plans to eventually make it accessible for players. As a rare and singular Pokemon within the X and Y storyline, it could be that AZ might gift his cherished Pokemon to the player in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, following precedents seen in earlier games.

In the video games “Pokemon X and Y”, the Pokemon Flabebe and its evolved form Floette were presented as native creatures of the Kalos region. The narrative of these games discloses that a conflict erupted between regions some 3,000 years ago, with Pokemon serving as tools of war. AZ’s cherished Floette was seized during this struggle and met its demise in battle. Overwhelmed by sorrow, AZ devised a device to resurrect the fallen Pokemon, harnessing the vital energies of other Pokemon. The revived Floette manifested as Eternal Flower Floette, and the machine granted immortality to AZ’s trainer too (accounting for their continued existence). The device was subsequently transformed into the Ultimate Weapon, unleashed to annihilate both regions. Initially, Floette distanced itself from AZ due to his actions, but eventually, Pokemon and trainer found solace in each other once more.
