As a dedicated follower of Eva Mendes‘ career and personal life, I have to admit that her kids seem to be quite unimpressed with their mother’s movies – a fact that is both amusing and relatable for any parent who has ever tried to share their work with their offspring.

Eva Mendes might have to wait a little bit longer until her kids think she’s cool.

The actress from the movie “Place Beyond The Pines” (who has a 10-year-old named Esmeralda and an 8-year-old named Amada with partner Ryan Gosling) recently disclosed that her daughters aren’t particularly excited about her films, as they seem to be “unimpressed.

During her September 18th visit to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Eva expressed that her daughters have not watched any of her films as they show no interest, saying, “they just don’t care.

She explained, “Around a year back, I attempted to demonstrate to them a particular scene from the movie ‘Hitch’. This scene with Will Smith was one I felt particularly good about, given my apprehension towards deep, ominous water. You know, the famous jet ski scene. In the movie, I even had to perform a physical comedy stunt in the Hudson River. To be honest, I was terrified. But that day, I confronted my fear and executed that stunt, and I felt proud of myself.

In a statement, the author of “The Desi, Mami, and The Never-Ending Worries” revealed that she had previously attempted – but ultimately failed – to draw inspiration from that particular scene’s backstory for her own daughters.

Once, one of my daughters was frightened, and I responded by saying something like, ‘Here’s a chance to demonstrate what I can do!’ Eva chuckled. ‘I showed them, and I said, ‘This is Mama conquering her fear.’ But, to be honest, they didn’t find it the least bit impressive!’

The 50-year-old added, “They were just like, ‘Oh, cool, Mama! Can we go outside?'”

Although Eva and Ryan’s girls didn’t seem to care much for their mother’s previous endeavors, they did show some interest in one of their father’s past works: specifically, the Barbie project where he portrayed the character Ken.

“That was beautiful, because the girls were such a huge part of that,” Eva told Jimmy. “They were such a huge part in him saying yes and taking the role, because there’s like 30 Barbies sitting in the house, and there’s one Ken. So, you know, he was like, ‘There’s something here!'”

Though Eva and Ryan seldom reveal details about their family life at home, they made a rare exception by taking their daughters to the Paris Olympics in August.

At the women’s gymnastics uneven bars final, the family kept their girls with them, yet managed to maintain a sense of privacy in this highly-televised occasion. Remarkably, the audience and camera operators respected their wish for discretion, avoiding showcasing the daughters on screen.

Eva posted on Instagram, “I appreciated @nbcolympics not switching to the children during our visit, and I was glad most websites pixelated their faces because it made me content as a mother. Overall, it was wonderful to be there and experience unity with others.

She added, “they were great about not posing the kids so l’m a grateful mama bear.”
