Every Agatha All Along Theory Marvel Fans Got Wrong

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel fan who has spent countless hours debating theories with fellow enthusiasts online, I must say that the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), “Agatha All Along,” was a rollercoaster ride of excitement and disappointment. While some theories were validated, such as the confirmation of Mephisto’s existence, others took a detour from the road we expected them to be on.

Enthusiasts of fan theories found plenty to discuss with the release of “Agatha All Along“, and while several predictions were confirmed, others were proven incorrect. As the series has concluded, online communities are busy calculating the new facts and contemplating how they might impact the broader universe. Before we delve deeper into speculations about the future, let’s revisit some of the more intriguing theories that didn’t come to fruition.

Mephisto

Initially, numerous speculations about the series “Agatha All Along” shared a common flaw found in theories regarding earlier MCU films – an overemphasis on the appearance of Mephisto. For quite some time, fans have anticipated Mephisto’s debut, and it wasn’t unreasonable for them to anticipate his introduction in this show. Given that magic and witchcraft are integral aspects of the storyline, it made sense that a powerful demon like Mephisto could be introduced through these means. After all, Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) has shown she’s capable of making underhanded deals to achieve her objectives.

Audience members speculated that Rio (portrayed by Aubrey Plaza) might secretly be Mephisto in disguise, given her comments from September. This theory gained some traction, as Plaza hinted to Scarlet Witch Updates: “I’m just so thrilled they let me play this character. ‘I can’t give away any secrets, but the reveal is quite astonishing. I believe the fans will be utterly ecstatic when they see it.

In Episode 3, Sasheer Zamata’s character Jennifer Kale hinted at a rumor about Agatha’s son potentially being associated with Mephisto. Although we know this isn’t accurate, it suggests that Marvel is planning to bring the character Mephisto into play, as this is the first on-screen reference since The Avengers.

Teen’s Sigil

A significant aspect fueling fan speculations revolved around the symbol that kept Bill Maximoff from disclosing personal details at the beginning of the series. Some fans hypothesized that Teen may have intentionally applied this symbol to conceal himself from an adversary yet to be unveiled, while others proposed he might have done so unintentionally during his study of witchcraft – possibly even from the Darkhold.

Ultimately, the truth behind the sigil fell short of expectations for certain theory enthusiasts who believed it held more importance. Yet, within the narrative, it proved an effective method to quickly unite the coven.

Hulkling

Following our encounter with Billy’s partner Eddie and the confirmation that Billy practices Wicca, many fans speculated that Eddie might be Theodore Altman – better known as Hulkling. Given their romance in Marvel Comics’ “Young Avengers”, it seemed logical to continue this narrative. However, as of now, there’s no hint suggesting Eddie possesses hidden powers. Yet, being young, Billy could develop feelings for someone else in the future.

The Salem Seven

Based on online discussions, it seems fans were significantly let down by how the Salem Seven were portrayed in the series. Many had anticipated that these mysterious witches would uncover major revelations, possibly concerning Agatha herself, given their distinct relationship in the comics. At minimum, viewers believed the Salem Seven would be a challenging obstacle on the Witch’s Road, compelling Agatha to confront them. However, instead, they were swiftly defeated with a noble sacrifice.

Tommy

Following the unmasking of Billy, online enthusiasts brainstormed captivating and intricate hypotheses regarding how his brother Tommy could be resurrected by the season’s finale. Regrettably, these scenarios didn’t materialize, but they would have made for gripping television. Some speculated that the Witches’ Path might lead to the afterlife or a place where Mephisto had trapped Tommy’s soul. It seems that Marvel is preserving this character for another series or film instead.

Scarlet Witch

Unfortunately, the series “Agatha All Along” didn’t offer any hope for those who believed Billy was looking for the Scarlet Witch herself. The abrupt turn of events involving Wanda in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” has left many fans disappointed and uncertain about her fate, particularly concerning a possible redemption arc or even confirmation of her survival. Despite their hopes, there was no indication of seeking out Wanda in this show; however, that could potentially alter in the future.

Agatha’s Next Adventure

Currently, much speculation among MCU fans surrounds the future of Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff. Many believe these characters will feature in the upcoming series “VisionQuest”, although there are numerous other possibilities depending on the narrative being followed. The latest episode “Agatha All Along” seems to hint towards an MCU adaptation of the “Avengers: Children’s Crusade” storyline, where Billy and Tommy search for their mother. During this journey, they may form alliances with characters like Wonder Man (and others) while confronting adversaries such as Dr. Doom.

Doomsday.” Regarding Agatha, while she might follow Billy around, since she’s a ghost, she could potentially make appearances elsewhere too.
