Every New Game Coming to PS Plus Premium and Extra in April, Ranked

Nearly halfway into April now, and that means fresh games are set to arrive for Sony’s PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscription tiers. The addition process this time around is a bit unconventional, as “Blue Prince” and “EA Sports PGA Tour” will be available on April 10th, while the remainder of the lineup joins on April 15th. This collection includes eight titles, ranging from brand new day-one PS Plus offerings to a classic from the PS2 era.

This month, with eight fresh games available through PS Plus, making a choice might seem a bit challenging. To ease your decision-making process, I’ve arranged all the games joining the PS Plus Premium and Extra libraries in ascending order of preference. That way, you can start exploring the ones that other players find most appealing first.

8. EA Sports PGA Tour (PS5)

EA Sports’ PGA Tour is essentially what you’d imagine: it’s a realistic golf simulation video game developed by EA, allowing players to design their own golfer and compete in authentic PGA Tour tournaments. Although it’s notable as the only EA Sports golf game released since 2015, its appeal may be limited unless you’re deeply passionate about golf.

7. Alone in the Dark 2 (PS4, PS5)

One notable inclusion to the collection of classic games on PS Plus Premium this month is the title, “Alone in the Dark 2.” Originating from the original PlayStation in 1996, it’s essentially a revamped version of the 1994 MS-DOS sequel to an influential survival horror game. While there are other more renowned PS1 horror games such as the first “Resident Evil,” for enthusiasts of vintage horror gaming who recently played “Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare” (2001) through PS Plus Premium, it’s worth giving this one a spin.

6. Battlefield 1 (PS4)

Nearly a decade post its launch, Battlefield 1 remains among the top-tier titles in Electronic Arts’ longstanding first-person shooter series. It breathed new life into the franchise by shifting focus to World War 1, a unique backdrop seldom seen in similar games. Despite being outclassed technologically by more recent entries such as Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042, the captivating setting of Battlefield 1 makes it a compelling replay option even in 2025.

5. PlateUp! (PS4, PS5)

If you’re fond of teamwork games like “Overcooked”, consider trying out “PlateUp!”. Like “Overcooked”, it requires players to collaborate in preparing food, but it offers a unique twist. It does this by focusing on the building and management of the restaurant setting and incorporating a roguelike gameplay structure. It could be an excellent new addition to your collection of cooperative games for sharing with friends and family.

4. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 (PS5)

The position of “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2” on this list is due to my eagerness for it.

3. Hogwarts Legacy (PS4, PS5)

It’s highly likely that you’ve already played the top-selling video game of 2023 in North America, Hogwarts Legacy. But if you haven’t, here’s good news: it will be available on PS Plus soon! Despite being a typical open-world game, Hogwarts Legacy stands out as the most expensive and detailed Harry Potter game ever made. If you’re a fan of the franchise, exploring Hogwarts is an enjoyable experience. Although its gameplay may not impress you greatly, it still offers a fun universe to dive into.

2. War of the Monsters (PS4, PS5)

As a fan, I’d say that “War of the Monsters” is an iconic PS2 game where you get to unleash your inner beast and command colossal monsters in intense battles against others. It’s a delightful blast from the past with a dash of arcade-style excitement. Despite being an oldie, this game can undeniably offer a fun-filled night for you and your buddies. Plus, who wouldn’t love to relive those good times in high definition, earn trophies along the way? It’s a retro gem that still holds up!

1. Blue Prince (PS5)

Don’t let the fact that “Blue Prince” is a puzzle-roguelike game intimidate you. This upcoming indie gem of 2025 has already garnered top reviews, making it one of the highest-rated games of the year on Metacritic. In this game, players are tasked with gradually exploring a mansion with changing rooms, and it’s up to them to figure out how these rooms fit together. Each day, the rooms reset, but the roguelike elements of the game offer an intriguing challenge. If you want to keep up with the Game of the Year conversation this year, you won’t want to miss “Blue Prince”, especially since it’s included in your subscription.
