preparations are underway for a brand new batch of seasonal content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, even as many in the community eagerly await the reappearance of Verdansk on April 3 as the main map in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, there are some who can’t wait to see what the next two months hold for Black Ops 6’s multiplayer experience.
In Season 3, Warzone and Verdansk take center stage, which might leave you feeling that the multiplayer content is scarce. However, there’s plenty to anticipate, such as brand-new maps, game modes, firearms, and an entirely refreshed battle pass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Season 3 — Release date
It turns out that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 3 content, which was initially pushed back, has been moved up by Activision and the development team. Players can jump into Season 3 starting from April 2 at 9 AM PT/1 PM ET. During this time, Call of Duty: Warzone will be shut down for a day to prepare for the launch of Verdansk.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Season 3 — Maps
As an analyst, I eagerly anticipate each new season of Call of Duty, and this time around, it’s no different. In fact, Season 3 promises to deliver a fresh battlefield experience with the introduction of five brand-new maps and one exciting map variant throughout its duration.
New map: Barrage

Hudson’s spirit continues to guide the Rogue Black Ops team even though he is no longer alive. He left hints for them regarding a Summit Watch in 1968 Vietnam, which brings them back to the battlefield in Barrage. This mid-sized map, centered around a Command Center and Barracks, has been partially destroyed to create new routes.
On the Watchtower, Overlook, and the upper level of the Command Center, there are numerous hidden spots that make excellent cover for snipers with clear lines of vision. Be mindful of your path, or strategically move along the map’s edges, hiding behind cannons for protection.
Barrage will join the playlist rotation at launch.
New map: Nomad

For those who love small-scale maps, Nomad is now available in Strike, team deathmatch (6v6), and two versus two game modes. This takes us back to Afghanistan where Pantheon moles were first encountered by Frank Woods, a character we know well, in 1986.
In your assignment, you’ll find yourself engaging in combat near the remains of a fortified village, accompanied by a stationary missile launcher situated with a view of the valley. Utilize the arches and walls of the ruins as shields, or seize the initiative by attacking the solitary structure that dominates the map’s center. Be cautious, though, as adversaries may surprise you from behind using the zip lines as stealthy approach routes.
This brand-new map will be available at launch.
Returning map: Firing Range

At long last, the much-anticipated Firing Range is making its comeback in Black Ops, with a meticulous remaster that encompasses the entirety of this cherished map. The Shoot House and Garage provide strategic positions across the map, but nothing rivals the tower overlooking the dirt road for a panoramic view. The moving practice targets behind the office serve as engaging diversions when attempting to summon score streaks, and there’s no scarcity of ambush spots to maintain excitement.
Firing Range will be available as a core 6v6 map at launch.
Midseason maps

Map enthusiasts using medium-sized maps can anticipate the arrival of the fresh Haven map during Season 3 Reloaded, which revolves around a KGB safehouse dating back to 1991. In the decaying compound’s old Ballroom lies a makeshift command center, surrounded by an abundance of cables and generators in the Hall. Despite its mid-sized dimensions, there’s plenty of narrow spaces for intense close-quarters battles, so stay alert as you traverse the gardens.
Some community members might have spotted that the minimap design in Haven is similar to the ones used in Modern Warfare 3, rather than those found in Black Ops 6. This could suggest that certain downloadable maps from Modern Warfare 3 were possibly saved for use in Black Ops 6 at a later stage.
At the halfway point of the update, the compact map named Signal will become available in Haven. This map, set in 1968, acts as a bridge connecting the secret agents of Black Ops from Pantheon to the notorious numbers station previously featured in releases. Engage in battle within the control room, but be cautious of the hazardous flames in the upper wing. The broadcast station and landing area for communication are likely to be bustling combat zones, so if you’re seeking a fight, you won’t have to wait long.

To round things up, players can anticipate a unique spin on Blazetown, the mid-season update, which is a special version of Nuketown and will only be accessible for a brief period. Earlier, I had hoped to see an option to disable the cannabis-themed decorations in my wishlist of six modifications I desired Black Ops 6 to make in Call of Duty. Regrettably, it appears that this suggestion was not heeded.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Season 3 — Modes
As a tech enthusiast, I always look forward to the thrill of fresh experiences in multiplayer games, and seasonal content updates never disappoint! While Season 3 may not be bursting with entirely new game modes, it’s great to see some beloved classics making a comeback.
New mode: Sharpshooter

Instead of introducing a free-for-all party mode that seems like a mix of Cranked and Gun Game, Treyarch, you’re giving us quite the compliment! This suggests an exciting gameplay dynamic where every 45 seconds, each character receives a new loadout featuring a scoped sniper rifle, paired pistols, a dedicated melee weapon, plus tactical and lethal equipment. We’ll certainly give it a try!
Earning kills stacks the bonuses below:
- 1st Elimination: Increased movement speed.
- 2nd Elimination: Increased reload speed.
- 3rd Elimination: Increased sprint recovery speed.
- 4th Elimination: Increased ADS speed.
- 5th Elimination: Earn double score for eliminating enemies.
Die, and you start over at the bottom to work your way back up to double score again.
New mode: Demolition

In simpler terms, “Demolition” – an iconic game mode from the past – is making a comeback around the release period of Season 3. Players will take turns attacking and defending two distinct bomb sites. Coordination among team members will be crucial if they aim to successfully detonate either location.
In this scenario, all operators start with a bomb, and respawns are applicable for both sides. Defenders should strategize on how to delay the offensive players for an adequate amount of time, allowing them to run out the clock. The team that wins two rounds first emerges victorious, but if there’s a tie, a unique round will commence where both teams aim to set off a neutral bomb as quickly as possible.
Midseason modes
For about 30 days or so, from the beginning of Season 3 up until the mid-season update, the Call of Duty team has announced plans for a temporary game mode called Joint Operations. This mode will adapt the pentathlon style we witnessed during the last Squid Game event and modify it to establish five unique variations of the Core game modes.
- Head Stash (TDM)
- Inhalation (Domination)
- Hotbox (Hardpoint)
- Very High Target (HVT)
- Munchies (Kill Confirmed)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Season 3 — Loadouts

In order to tackle the fresh challenges ahead, it’s essential we examine the latest additions like the new special abilities, firearms, and bonus rewards that will significantly affect our preferred setups and interactions during Season 3.
New perk: Close shave
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, they emphasized a separate button for melee attacks from the start. However, some players have found that melee attacks are no longer effective due to a noticeable delay when trying to execute them.
With this fresh enforcer bonus, you’ll occupy your initial slot, yet it brings back the old-school feel of Call of Duty where you can perform a melee attack instead of a weapon’s butt attack. Just press the Melee key to trigger it.
As a tech enthusiast, I wish they had opted to reinstate the functionality in its entirety for an easier user experience. However, given that we now have the option to relinquish a perk slot for this feature, I guess it’s not all bad after all.
New perk: Vendetta
If an adversary eliminated you, and now you seek retribution, this feature is designed for you. Known as Vendetta, it momentarily highlights your killer’s last known location upon respawning, offering a chance to revisit the scene for revenge. However, those utilizing the Vigilance perk remain unaffected by Vendetta.
New score streak: Death Machine

Once again, a fan-favorite installment in the Black Ops series arrives with Season 3. Strangely enough, here I am, still donning my cherished black caps. However, armed with a 825 score, I can effortlessly obliterate adversaries using intense, rapid-fire hellfire from a generously sized magazine.
New weapon: Kilo 141

In the latest season, this renowned battle rifle is back in Black Ops, equipped with three magazines holding thirty rounds each, forty-two challenging levels to conquer, and a variety of add-ons and personalization choices. The Kilo weapon becomes available instantly when a player enters Warzone for the first time during Season 3.
New weapon: CR-56 AMAX

Additionally, the CR-56 AMAX is a weapon that reappears, but to acquire it, you’ll need to put in some additional work. It can be found on the Battle Pass page, specifically on tier rewards for High Value Targets (HVT), starting from page 6.
As a tech enthusiast, I can’t wait to dive into the 42-level progression and customize my CR-56 AMAX with its array of attachments! The 3 magazines, each holding 30 rounds, ensure I’m always ready for action. This versatile AR makes quick work of enemies from up close or at a distance – it’s capable of taking down targets in just three to four shots within 25 meters, making the camo grind feel like a breeze!
New weapon: HDR

Step aside, Kar98, it’s time for a new sheriff in town – the updated HDR! With 38 challenging levels to conquer, this modern sniper rifle comes equipped with three magazines, each holding five rounds. This bad boy is a bolt-action beauty from the Modern Warfare era, boasting lower muzzle velocity but still packing enough punch to take down an enemy in one shot, regardless of the distance!
On the third page of the Battle Pass, you can unlock the High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature, which is a reward for High-Value Target (HVT) tiers. Stay safe, everyone!
New weapon: Kali Sticks

The reappearance of the swift Kali sticks will likely instill dread among certain game participants, since these quick melee weapons, capable of delivering a deadly two-strike blow, can inflict unexpected, stealthy harm. They are set to come back at launch as a reward for an event.
New weapon attachments

The following attachments are coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone in Season 3:
- Monolithic Suppressor (Launch, battle pass page 7)
- Swat 5.56 Grau Conversion (Launch, battle pass page 5)
- C9 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags (In season, event reward)
- Goblin Mk2 7.62 Mini-Rocket Conversion (Midseason, event reward)
Midseason weapons

2 new weapons are anticipated to appear as event prizes following the midseason update, which should take place between late April and early May. The compact powerhouse known as the Ladra boasts an incredibly fast firing rate and range, making it a formidable force despite its lower initial damage output. The Nail Gun, set to make a reappearance, may spark frustration among hardcore gamers, as they will likely be frequently targeted by this seemingly inept weapon.
New feature: Camo hub and blueprint swap

For those seeking greater autonomy over their weapon designs in Black Ops 6, here’s some exciting news! Now, you can personalize any base weapon or Weapon Blueprint by applying skins that you’ve either earned or purchased across all three modes of Call of Duty. Keep in mind that basic weapons will only let you switch the skin, not alter attachments, but customizing Weapon Blueprints gives you the freedom to adjust both the skin and existing attachments.
In the near future following Season 3 release, Call of Duty will introduce a revised user interface. This update consolidates all required challenges for unlocking weapon camouflages in one centralized spot, eliminating the need for players to continuously scroll right on an individual weapon’s camo screen.
The new camo hub can be found in the Barracks under the Challenges Menu once it launches.

Right now, you can grab Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Xbox and PlayStation gaming systems, as well as on PC through platforms like Steam, Battle.net, Microsoft Store, or Xbox App. Additionally, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you can play it at no additional cost!
