As a die-hard Netflix enthusiast with a soft spot for comedies and anime, I must admit this weekend’s offerings have left me somewhat underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always game for another adventure with Sailor Moon, but one new movie in the Sailor Moon universe just doesn’t cut it for me.
Looking forward to the weekend? Many find it’s time for a well-deserved break. If you’re one of those people with a Netflix subscription, you can expect some fresh movies and series to check out on your list. However, this weekend doesn’t boast as many exciting or new releases compared to previous ones.
On the gaming schedule for this weekend, only Thursday, 22nd August and Friday, 23rd August have fresh drops on Netflix – but it seems like a quiet one as both days aren’t exactly action-packed.
As a devoted fan of Sailor Moon since its original airing in the ’90s, I was thrilled to wake up on Thursday morning and discover that Netflix had added a new feature film set within the Sailor Moon universe. The excitement of reliving my childhood memories and exploring new adventures with these iconic characters was palpable. This addition brought a sense of nostalgia and joy, reminding me of the impact this series had on my life, shaping my love for anime and inspiring my creativity as an artist. I eagerly looked forward to immersing myself in this latest offering, hoping it would capture the magic and essence that made Sailor Moon a beloved franchise for generations.
On typical Fridays, Netflix sees a lot of new content added to its platform during a given week. However, this coming Friday, there are only two scheduled additions. One of these is the comedy movie titled “Incoming“, which has garnered less attention in the press but holds significant interest due to its creators. The Chernin brothers, Dave and John, are the minds behind this high school party comedy. They have gained fame for their contributions as writers and executive producers on the hugely popular sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia“.
