Everything We Know About Valorant Mobile

Riot Games has developed a mobile version of their team-based tactical shooter game featuring heroes, which goes by the name Valorant Mobile. This game is now playable on both computers and gaming consoles, but it’s also available for mobile devices.

It essentially replicates the fundamental mechanics of Valorant, with each round focusing on either planting or disarming a bomb, and this experience is now accessible through swipe-based controls on your iPhone or Android device.

Speedy Studios, famous for mobile sensations such as PUBG Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile, are currently working on its development.

Release Timeline & Testing Phases

In April 2025, a trailer along with an exclusive announcement for China was unveiled, signaling the start of closed beta testing in that area. Riot Games plans to initiate a worldwide release, starting from June or July 2025, after providing early access to China.

Starting from now, the game can be pre-registered in China through both the App Store and Huawei’s AppGallery. It is planned to begin public testing on June 12, 2025, with a potential full launch scheduled for November 25, 2025.

Starting in June 2025, closed beta testing will commence in China. This phase will include developer journals and special missions for testers. If all goes well with regional approvals and server preparations, a worldwide beta test could follow shortly thereafter.

Gameplay & Features

Core Gameplay

In terms of appearance and functionality, Valorant Mobile appears quite similar to its PC and console counterparts. It provides a platform for strategic teamwork, map bomb placement, and distinctive character skills.

Confirmed maps include Ascent, Bind, Haven, Breeze, Split, and Fracture. Additionally, mobile-optimized maps like Shipyard and Ancient Village, designed for shorter, portable gaming experiences, are currently being developed.

Mobile-Specific Enhancements

Leaks from the Chinese beta reveal a range of mobile-focused additions:

  • Gyroscope aiming to assist with recoil control
  • Customizable HUD layouts and visual guidance systems
  • Game modes like Replication, Deathmatch, and an aim training range
  • Quality-of-life tools, including match replays, MVP highlight animations, and real-time stat tracking

These attributes have been crafted to let mobile gamers savor a refined gameplay while preserving the tactical complexity that is characteristic of Valorant.

Agent & Map Line-Up

16 characters, including popular ones such as Jett, Raze, Phoenix, Sage, and Sova, will be available at the game’s launch. These characters each possess their unique abilities, tailored for easier use with mobile controls. It is expected that additional characters may be added through updates following the initial release.

Technical Requirements

Preliminary specs suggest the following minimum requirements:

  • For Android users, a Snapdragon 675 or equivalent with 4 GB RAM is suggested. The device should run Android 7 or later.
  • iOS players will need a device with an A11 chip or newer, running iOS 11 or above.
  • Both platforms should reserve at least 4 GB of storage for installation and updates.

Esports & Competitive Scene

As an enthusiastic admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be part of the first official mobile Valorant tournament in China! This exciting event is being jointly organized by Riot and OnePlus, with the top-tier OnePlus Ace 5 Supreme powering it. Can’t wait to see the action unfold on this cutting-edge device!

2025 sees scheduled protests in Shanghai and Qingdao, while there’s talk of a worldwide mobile gaming tournament towards the end of that year. There’s a possibility it could coincide with the Valorant Champions Tour events.

Cross-Progression and Monetization

Riot Games has verified that progress can be carried over across different platforms, but cosmetic items won’t transfer between PC and mobile versions. During the beta phase, a stand-in currency called “Test Tokens” will be used for in-game purchases, hinting at a future paid cosmetic system.

Summary & What’s Next

Valorant Mobile is progressing to become a top-quality, comprehensive adaption of Riot’s popular first-person shooter (FPS) game, Valorant, on mobile devices. This version stays true to the PC original while incorporating unique features designed exclusively for mobile users. Prepare for additional global beta tests, updates from developers, and a full release by the end of 2025.
