As someone who has been through their fair share of horror movies and knows the difference between a good scare and a cheap jump-scare, I can confidently say that Evil Dead Rise is a breath of fresh air in the genre. The latest installment in the Evil Dead franchise has quickly become my go-to choice on Netflix, outshining even the beloved Garfield Movie (don’t get me wrong, I love lasagna too).
This past year, the newest addition to the Evil Dead series, titled “Evil Dead Rise,” left moviegoers spellbound and petrified. Since its initial release, the excitement surrounding this horror film appears to be persisting in the streaming community. After a brief run on Max, “Evil Dead Rise” has now found a new home on Netflix’s streaming service in the United States, where it has been generating quite a buzz among subscribers.
Only a day after its release, “Evil Dead Rise” has quickly made its way into the top echelon of Netflix content in the U.S., reaching the second spot on the Netflix Top 10 Movies list for today.
The Garfield Movie has consistently remained the top movie on the site. However, Evil Dead Rise managed to surpass all other recent releases on the platform. Surprisingly, despite being a brutal, R-rated horror film, Evil Dead Rise swiftly outperformed movies like Uglies and Rebel Ridge.
