VG Entertainment, previously recognized as Vostok Games, unveiled their latest project titled “Forest Reigns“. This is an immersive first-person shooter with a narrative focus, taking place amidst the remnants of a post-pandemic Paris in an alternate timeline.
In the immersive gaming universe, I’ve stumbled upon a breathtaking yet ominous version of Paris – a verdant, hostile paradise birthed from Mother Nature’s wrath. Familiar landmarks stand reshaped by nature reclaiming its territory as I traverse through this city. Scavenging resources to stay alive becomes an essential part of the journey, as I navigate this transformed urban jungle.
According to Vostok Games, the forest in the game titled “Forest Reigns” is not just a setting, but a significant character. Instead of serving merely as a backdrop, it’s portrayed more like an “intelligence”. If you provoke it with aggression, it will retaliate with hostility. However, if you tread carefully and approach it with caution, it might even become your ally.
In addition, it seems that “Forest Reigns” will incorporate “authentic weapon handling” and a wide range of “personalizable equipment”, allowing you to create a unique collection of weapons as you navigate the overgrown avenues of Paris.
Just as expected from developers who were once part of the Stalker team, this game offers a “non-linear narrative” filled with numerous missions. You’ll find yourself interacting with several city factions, each having a distinctive perspective on what humanity’s future should be after the apocalypse.
According to Studio Head Ruslan Didenko, “Forest Reigns” embodies the “boldest idea” the studio has yet ventured into. He explains that they are reconnecting with their origin by developing a first-person shooter game (FPS) centered around a compelling narrative for a single player experience.
