Before the launch of Starfield, Xbox executive Sarah Bond characterized the game as “a crucial role-playing game in our history”.
Initially, the newly released game from Bethesda was met with a relatively mild response, but anticipation leading up to its launch was incredibly high. There were even whispers that Sony was attempting to secure it as a timed exclusive, which led the Green Team to take drastic measures by purchasing the entire publishing company outright.
It seems that the PS5 version of the game is likely to be released soon. Given that many Xbox games are being ported to Sony’s platform, this isn’t entirely unexpected. However, what makes it interesting is that YouTuber 510deshawn found a mod for the game featuring a PlayStation logo.
The content was posted on Reddit prior to its deletion from the game’s official site. It’s evident that it once existed, as there are pictures to back it up. However, it seems like it might have been released prematurely into the public domain. We speculate that the mod could have been developed by a game developer or beta tester.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t hide my excitement about the whispers surrounding Starfield potentially gracing the PS5. However, this recent piece of news is the first substantial hint that its port development might be underway. Given the flood of Xbox games slated for release on Sony’s platform this year, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if we don’t see Starfield until later in the year. It could even coincide with a significant expansion or upgrade to the game itself.
Are you still keen on the science fiction adventure, given that the initial excitement has died down and the feedback from other players has been rather subdued? It seems as though the general public may have lost interest in this somewhat disappointing game by Bethesda.
