Kick off your week with some delightful news, All Creatures Great and Small enthusiasts! Filming for the cherished show’s sixth season has officially commenced on Channel 5.
The latest season of the show concluded in the United Kingdom during the 2024 Christmas season, and the corresponding special aired on Sunday, 23rd February, for audiences abroad.
The Skeldale House team has swiftly jumped back into action, as confirmed by a post on their official Instagram account this morning, indicating the resumption of filming.

At the same time, actor Samuel West, known for his role as Siegfried Farnon, made the announcement on his social media platform, which is now called X (previously Twitter).
Apart from West, the upcoming season will also feature Nicholas Ralph, Rachel Shenton, Callum Woodhouse, Anna Madeley, and Patricia Hodge reprising their beloved roles. However, it seems that we won’t be seeing James Anthony-Rose as Richard Carmody anymore, at least for now, as he departed to attend a research program in London during the last season.
In the process, Shenton shared some of her expectations for the upcoming series, stating: “Now, she’s portrayed as a fully grown individual, and they’re depicting a young family dealing with these challenges. It would be fascinating to delve deeper into that aspect, as James has been absent until the initial part of this season.
Back in February 2024, it was initially revealed that Season 6 would be produced alongside Season 5 as a two-part commission. Without a doubt, enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating another visit to Skeldale House, our beloved destination for the upcoming season.
It’s likely that the program will come back on air during its regular time-slot in either September or October. We’ll inform you immediately once we receive an official announcement regarding the release date.
