Renowned anime director Mamoru Hosoda has been a significant figure in the animation industry for many years. During this time, he directed “Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!” from the 2000s, and he even contributed to the animation of Broly in “Dragon Ball Z: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan.” When asked about Broly’s enduring popularity and recurrence in the series, Hosoda commented, “I sketched Broly almost 30 years ago, and it’s amazing to see him still active and thriving. I’m definitely cheering for him.
After the success of his latest film, director Hosoda has revealed his upcoming major project, a collaboration with Studio Chizu titled “Scarlet”. This will mark Hosoda’s first movie since 2021’s “Belle” and it promises an engaging story about a princess who can travel through time and space. In Japan, the film will be distributed by Toho when it hits cinemas next year, while Sony Pictures will handle its international theatrical release. Fans in the US can expect to see it in 2023 as well. So, get ready for another exciting journey with Hosoda!
