Robert Pattinson recently shared some news about the upcoming sequel to “The Batman,” giving a hint as to when production will start for the Caped Crusader’s next adventure.
Initially, the premiere graced movie theaters in March 2022, receiving robust praise and affectionate responses from viewers due to its atmospheric rendition of the original work. However, planning for a follow-up has been challenging so far.
Last year towards the end, Warner Bros disclosed that the release of The Batman 2 was postponed by an entire year, pushing it back to October 2027. If Robert Pattinson’s recent statements are anything to go by, it appears that the project is progressing well enough to meet this new deadline.
At the Mickey 17 premiere, Pattinson spoke to Deadline and shared that while filming for the movie hasn’t occurred yet, it will commence at the end of this year. He hinted that fans won’t be seeing his portrayal of the Dark Knight in Gotham anytime soon.
When asked about the plot of the upcoming movie, Pattinson chose not to reveal any specifics, instead casually commenting: “It’s quite intriguing, I must say.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can’t help but wonder if the upcoming sequel will feature the return of Keoghan, whose stardom has soared in recent years. Fans like myself are eagerly anticipating gritty reboots of other legendary villains, such as Mr Freeze and Hush, and I can hardly wait to see what twists these iconic characters might bring!
While there’s a gap of more than five years between The Batman and its potential sequel, fans can look forward to the critically-acclaimed crime drama The Penguin to keep their excitement for the franchise alive during this time.
The HBO show received significant acclaim, earning several nominations at both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes. Notably, its leading man, Colin Farrell, won an award for his portrayal of the title gangster.
