Blumhouse’s Wolf Man Trailer
Jason Blum’s horror studio, Blumhouse Productions, is set to unveil another timeless Universal Monster tale – “The Wolf Man”. This move follows the massive box office success of their updated take on “The Invisible Man”, which premiered in February 2020. The upcoming film, “Wolf Man”, shares the same director as its predecessor, Leigh Whannell, and is expected to repeat that success by reimagining the classic monster story for contemporary audiences.
Despite its brief runtime of approximately one minute, the trailer effectively whetted our appetite for something fresh and thrilling, hinting at a novel twist on the classic werewolf movie. As director James Whannell put it, “I’m hoping that you exit the theater saying, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen a werewolf movie like this before.’
In this film titled “Wolf Man,” Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbot takes on the lead role, undergoing a transformation into something he never desired. The ensemble cast additionally features Julia Garner from “Ozark” and Sam Jaeger from “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The screenplay was penned by James Whannell along with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. Jason Blum and his production company, Blumhouse Productions, join Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell as executive producers. Ryan Gosling, who has been connected to the project since 2020, also takes on an executive producer role.
Since Blumhouse Productions has demonstrated great skill in creating contemporary horror films, they seem ideally suited to reimagine Universal’s timeless and cherished monster tales. Here’s hoping that we’ll keep witnessing these beloved creatures grace the big screen.
Wolf Man is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2025.
