Drawing Combat Units and Stratagems

As a passionate participant in Exercise Surging Storm, I’ll be gathering my Combat Units and Stratagems to assemble my teams for engaging in combat against the opposition’s lineup. In this wargame, we’ll face off in a series of 10 intense rounds, with each round presenting a new adversary.

At the start of every battle round, you’ll have a chance to pick Combat Units and Strategems. You’ll get a few opportunities in each round to change your selection if needed. The Combat Units and Strategems you choose will stay with you throughout the entire wargame.

In every third, fifth, seventh round of each game, you’ll earn one opportunity to select a strategic move. These strategic moves could potentially enhance your position significantly during the game, offering different advantages.

In this game, the fighting forces are divided into three categories: Normal, Elite, and Apex. These classes begin at levels 20, 25, and 30 respectively. As the battle progresses, you’ll see a higher chance of encountering Elite combat units. Elite units will make their appearance in the second round, while Apex units will appear after the fifth round.

When two identical combat units are present, they’ll automatically merge into a single unit with a higher rank. You can achieve combat units up to Rank 3 through this process. As the rank of the combat unit increases, so does its level and combat strength.

Preparation Phase

Prior to the fight, take a moment to review your adversary’s team composition and make any necessary adjustments to your own squad to ensure optimal performance. Seize this chance for strategic advantage!

Instead of holding onto less useful units right now, consider trading them for an opportunity to acquire a fresh combat unit. Each time you replace a Rank 1, 2, or 3 combat unit, you will receive 1, 2, or 4 reinforcement points respectively. By using 3 reinforcement points, you’ll earn 1 chance to draw a new unit.

Battle Phase

Once the fight commences, the fighting forces from either side will autonomously take position, march towards their adversaries, and launch assaults.

At the outset of every skirmish, only a single fighting force can be initially mobilized by both parties. However, as the conflict intensifies, the maximum number of units that can simultaneously engage on the battlefield may increase. If the number of active combat units is less than the current limit, those yet to join will sequentially enter the fray, with the battle continuing accordingly.

If no winner is determined after a specific duration of fighting, the combat will progress into the Phase of Wearing Each Other Down, where all engaged military forces will gradually lose health over time.

In a conflict, the team that manages to overpower and eliminate all enemy forces is declared the winner. The Wargame comes to an end either after ten consecutive battles or if defeat occurs within four rounds. Strive to win as many battles as possible to earn more Wargame Medals.

Suppression Strategems

In battle, various combat units have established counter-strategies against each other: Area of Effect damage dealers tend to excel against squad formations. Meanwhile, melee units can overpower ranged units, but ranged units can counter flying units, which in turn have an edge over melee units.

Melee units boast incredibly tough durability, withstanding a lot of damage and offering some shielding to other troops. Airborne units float above the ground, escaping melee assaults on the ground and specific area-of-effect damage types. Long-range ranged units deal heavy blows but are more vulnerable compared to their counterparts. Most long-range attacks can target flying units.
