As a seasoned space-faring adventurer with a penchant for epic sci-fi RPGs that rival the grandeur of BioWare’s Mass Effect series, I must say, my anticipation for Exodus has been nothing short of astronomical. The tantalizing tidbits dropped by Archetype Entertainment have me hooked, and the latest animated cinematics only serve to stoke the flames of my curiosity.
Anticipation for Exodus has been running high ever since it was announced, given its promise of an AA sci-fi RPG experience akin to the beloved Mass Effect series by BioWare. So far, we haven’t seen any gameplay, but developer Archetype Entertainment has consistently shared tidbits of information about the project.
In the unveiling of fresh animated sequences, the studio has given us glimpses into a couple of the numerous creature types players will interact with within the game. Among them is the Arkavir, a workforce created by an omnipotent species named the Celestials, who are now laboring under grueling conditions that their creators appear to be entirely indifferent towards.
There are also the Awakened Bears, who used to be regular bears centuries ago when they came to Alpha Centauri with humans leaving Earth behind, and now, after being Awakened (read more on that through here) and having gone through centuries of evolution, are now an intelligent and militaristic species. As has been the case with much of what’s been shown of Exodus so far, the lore revealed for both species continues to fascinate. Check out both videos below.
