As an avid fan, I can’t help but marvel at the diverse comic book and manga interpretations of Assassin’s Creed that have graced our shelves. Among these adaptations, none has captivated me more than the Blade of Shao Jun, a story birthed from the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China series.
However, there’s always been potential for a manga version of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Ubisoft has confirmed that they are working on an adaptation specifically for Japan’s launch. The comic will be made available globally at a later point, with Kodansha handling its publication worldwide.
Unveil the authentic precursor tale of the game! Journey with a young assassin-in-training, battling the escalating influence of the Templar Order in feudal Japan.
Based on the cover, it appears that this book series could have several installments and the protagonist will be Naoe, a character from the game. At this point, it’s uncertain how it will tie into the central plot, but we can expect it might provide more complexity to the characters and narrative. Here’s hoping for a richer story!
Inside the comic, you won’t find any examples of the artwork as of now, but fear not! As we approach the Japanese release on March 20th, we’ll have a closer and clearer view of the art.
