As someone who has followed Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s journey on reality TV for years, it’s truly a rollercoaster of emotions watching her tumultuous marriage to Kroy Biermann unfold in the public eye. It’s heartbreaking to see their repeated attempts at reconciliation and subsequent divorces, but as an outside observer, I can’t help but be intrigued by the complexities of their relationship.

During a preview for the July 23 premiere of “Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets,” a former star on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” wept profusely while dealing with her shattered marriage during a therapy session involving deep breathing exercises.
In a heartfelt confession, Kim broke down in tears as she shared, “I can’t help but cry and cry and cry as I breathe. I truly need this.” Later, she expressed her distress to her fellow cast members, Johnny Weir and Macy Gray, stating, “I’m completely falling apart.”
The workout session made the previous Bravo television personality acknowledge her need for more encouragement as she goes through this challenging phase.
Kim stated, “I look out for everyone else,” she explained, “but I feel like no one is looking out for me, not even my parents or my husband.”
At confession, the 46-year-old woman opened up about what made her feel ready to share her deepest emotions for the first time.
“Kim admitted, ‘I struggle to move on and it’s hard for me to be open and vulnerable with seven people I consider strangers, yet I find comfort in their presence more than with Kroy. It’s unfortunate.'”
In addition, she shared with her co-stars, “It’s amazing to me that I can relax and feel secure on set, even more than at home. Given that I became a mother at 18, one must always be strong.”
Previously, Kim shared with TopMob News that she viewed participation in the MTV reality show as a means to flee from the turbulent domestic relationship issues.
She expressed how amazing the experience was for her. Her intention was to disconnect, unwind, and change scenery in order to regain focus and clarify her thoughts. Leaving her children behind was challenging, but the time away proved to be rejuvenating.
In May 2023, both she and Kroy filed for divorce, each citing an irretrievably broken marriage that had lasted 11 years. But in July of the same year, they changed their minds and abandoned the divorce process. Later in August, however, they reversed course yet again and reinitiated the divorce proceedings.

When Kim Zolciak filed for divorce from Kroy Biermann on May 8, after over a decade of marriage, the ring no longer held significance to her.
Based on records acquired by TMZ, the separation date for the couple is indicated as April 30th. The reality TV star from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” expressed that their marriage is beyond repair and there’s no chance for reconciliation.
As a lifestyle expert and a mother myself, I can relate to Kim’s situation. She, being the caring parent of five beautiful children – Kroy Jr., age 11; Kash, 10; and the adorable 9-year-old twins, Kane and Kaia – shares this responsibility with her former NFL player partner. In addition, she is also a proud mom to Brielle, 25, and Ariana, 21.
After Kim filed for custody, Kroy followed suit the next day by submitting a petition for both legal and physical custody of their four kids on his own.
According to the obtained legal papers reported by TopMob News, Kim received a summons for her and Kroy to fill out a form monitoring their children’s treatment over a thirty-day period – as indicated in the documents.
During their time living in their Georgia house before filing for divorce, Kroy requested in his petition to have sole, temporary, and permanent control over that house and any other properties he bought during their marriage.
On May 16th, Kim Zolciak from “Don’t Be Tardy” submitted a request in court for her ex-husband, Kroy Biermann, to undergo drug testing. According to documents obtained by TopMob News, Kim expressed concern about Kroy’s use of marijuana and voiced fears for the children’s safety. In order to establish custody arrangements, Kim petitioned for a five-panel hair follicle drug screening. She also asked that Kroy maintain his current hairstyle prior to the test.
Kroy hasn’t answered her appeal yet. We’ve contacted his lawyer at TopMob News for a statement, but have not received a reply.
On the very same day that Kim submitted her request, she posted a mysterious message relating to relationships on her social media platforms.
“The most profound expression of love is thoughtfulness,” according to a post on Instagram Stories. When someone takes your feelings into account, pays close attention, and considers you in their decisions, these actions speak volumes about the depth of their care for you. Kim took to Instagram to share another arcane message about relationships on May 24.
I strongly resonate with the quote shared by someone on Instagram, which read, “Manipulation is when they blame you for your reaction to their toxic behavior, but never discuss their disrespect that triggered you.” This statement hits home for me as I have experienced similar situations in my past relationships. It’s an unfortunate reality that some people refuse to take responsibility for their actions and instead choose to blame the other person for reacting naturally to their manipulative tactics.
The unexpected separation of the couple, Kim and Kroy, has caught their fans off guard, as well as their ex-boss, Andy Cohen.
The host of “Watch What Happens Live” expressed shock during an interview on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show on May 9th. He hadn’t anticipated receiving such unexpected news about this seemingly devoted couple. They appeared deeply connected, and I genuinely believed they would stay together for the long term.
During the chaos of the divorce proceedings, Kim’s oldest daughters Brielle and Ariana, whom Kroy officially became the parent of after marrying Kim (on The Real Housewives of Atlanta), wrote heartfelt messages for their mother’s 53rd birthday.
“I deeply admire your strength, Ariana! Your Instagram Story post with you and your mom at the beach on May 19th brought this thought to mind. I’m grateful for everything you do and beaming with pride. Here’s to celebrating your 53rd birthday!”
As for Brielle, she shared a photo of herself alongside her mom drinking wine to her Instagram Stories, writing, “Happy birthday mom! I love you so much!”
After filing for divorce several weeks ago, Kim updated her social media profiles by removing her married last name.
In a recent Instagram post on June 8, Kim announced her upcoming return to “RHOA” (Real Housewives of Atlanta) by sharing a picture of herself with original cast members Lisa Wu, DeShawn Snow, and Sherée Whitfield. Accompanied by the caption “See you soon,” Kim hinted at her imminent comeback to the reality show.
Approximately two months following their separation announcement, Kim and Kroy chose to reconvene their marriage.
According to court records from Georgia obtained by TopMob News, the RHOA alum submitted documents on July 7 to drop their divorce proceedings. Simultaneously, Marlys A. Bergstrom, the ex-NFL player’s lawyer, confirmed to TopMob News that both parties were ending their divorce case and attempting to reconcile.
Four days after being pictured strolling to church with their younger brood, Kim and Kroy received some newsworthy updates.
A few days after reversing their divorce plans, Kim was seen wearing her wedding ring once more in an Instagram Story posted on July 11.
I’ve been following the ups and downs of this beloved couple’s relationship, with a heavy heart I have to admit that their latest attempt at reconciliation didn’t work out. Sadly, on August 24th, Kroy filed for divorce once more, as reported by TMZ. He expressed that our cherished marriage has reached a point of no return and is seeking sole legal and physical custody of our precious four children in the future. Additionally, he requested child support and alimony payments.
On September 25th, Kim asked the court to throw out Kroy’s second divorce petition because she claimed they were still living together as a married couple, despite their separation.
According to the Bravo star’s declaration in newly obtained documents from TopMob News, despite the assertions in the Divorce Petition, the couple has had marital intimacy several times since its filing. The most recent instance reportedly took place around September 7, 2023.
In spite of their continuing separation, Kim and Kroy came back together to mark their 12th marriage anniversary on November 11 with a cozy Italian meal.
