Amber Portwood’s daughter is not performing for the cameras.
In the May 1st episode of Teen Mom, Leah Shirley, who mostly resides with her father Gary Shirley and stepmother Kristina Shirley, criticized the relationship Amber supposedly maintains during the filming of the reality show.
Leah, 16 years old, admitted to her ‘Teen Mom’ co-stars Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout that Amber’s actions were not genuine. She explained, ‘You never respond to my texts, you rarely see me, and when I do see you, it seems like you’re trying to look good in front of the camera by pretending to be an outstanding mom.’
In another part of the show, Leah confessed that she wasn’t keen on her mother Amber accompanying them on a family vacation to New York. This was more so after Amber’s live broadcast on TikTok where she expressed intentions to withdraw from Teen Mom.
In a different conversation, Leah expressed to her father, “I didn’t desire a relationship with her to begin with, as she hasn’t been reliable. However, her latest actions have made me feel so strongly against any contact, let alone being close to her.
As Leah also admitted, she has simply grown tired of her mother’s behavior.
In simple terms, Leah shared, “For as long as I can remember, and likely even before that, she’s consistently behaved in this manner. She seems to have an inclination towards causing trouble, ensuring that all eyes are on her, and often portrays herself as a victim in various situations.
And when Gary suggested that Amber isn’t aware of Leah’s true feelings, the 16-year-old agreed.
Perhaps she’s unaware of her rude behavior towards others,” Leah went on, “but it needs to be brought to her attention. I believe she might not fully grasp that I’ve been intentionally avoiding a relationship with her. I think I should reach out to her and make it clear.
Although the teenage girl made it clear that she doesn’t “detest” her mother, she acknowledged the need for some personal distance – a choice she made independently.
Leah mentioned that while she acknowledges she has her own struggles, she finds it tough on her end. She further explained that she wants to clarify the situation since she believes her friend might think their relationship problems are due to her father, which isn’t accurate as these issues are not his fault.
In March, Amber penned a birthday message to Leah, expressing that she would be waiting for her forgiveness. Yet, Leah didn’t find this act especially moving at the moment.
In her words, “What happened just now doesn’t fully compensate for the entire year – or any time prior – when she wasn’t present.

In 2009, on their first season of “16 and Pregnant,” viewers witnessed Catelynn Lowell and her now-husband Tyler Baltierra face a challenging decision: giving their first child, Carly, up for adoption. After being together for thirteen years, they tied the knot in August 2015 and have since welcomed three more daughters into their family: Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya.
Despite the lingering sorrow from Carly’s absence, who resides with her adoptive family, Brandon and Teresa Davis, they remain steadfast in their pursuit of a hopeful future.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2025, Catelynn expressed their bond “depends on what she desires.” She explained, “Whether she’s seeking a connection with her biological siblings, or if she prefers a relationship with us, that’s fantastic. If she doesn’t, we get it. Whatever form of relationship suits her best is what matters most, because it should be focused on the adoptee.
In just under half a year of being together, viewers witnessed Maci Bookout deal with an unreliable Ryan Edwards during the reality show 16 and Pregnant. Despite their engagement, these high school sweethearts separated less than a year after their son Bentley was born in 2008.
Currently, they are making efforts towards establishing a collaborative parenting bond. As TopMob News reported in 2023, Maci shared that Ryan is being more regular and consistent in his presence than perhaps he ever has been previously.
In 2012, Maci came across her lifelong partner, Taylor McKinney from Texas. Not long after, they started expanding their team, as they say. They were blessed with daughter Jayde in May of 2015 and son Maverick followed a year later. Later in October, they tied the knot in Florida.
2023 interview with TopMob News found her stating, “My partner and I are united in our roles as parents, life partners, and fashion brand owners (TTM Lifestyle). To put it simply, he’s my one and only. Despite the challenging times we’ve faced throughout the year, I find myself still committed to him. I admire him, appreciate him, and though there are moments when I feel like I might want to throw a punch, I’d rather fight with him or endure difficult periods together than be without any such challenges with anyone else.
Regardless of having new partners, the MTV celebrities who became close during The Challenge production, still share responsibility for raising their child named Ryder. They have managed to maintain a cooperative parenting relationship post-relationship.
From day one of Cory joining Ryder’s life, Cheyenne made it clear that the most important aspect for Cory was his role as a father and a parent. She refused to let him be a dad who only showed up in idealized or picture-perfect moments; instead, she demanded he commit fully. It seems from the start, Cory respected her mindset, which is why their co-parenting has worked so well.
Following the conclusion of their romance in 2018, they chose to rekindle their relationship. During her 28th birthday celebration, Cheyenne announced on Instagram that she was reunited with Zach. In May 2021, they became parents to their first child, a son named Ace, and tied the knot in September 2022.
In 2024, Cheyenne shared with TopMob News that the previous two years were spent accomplishing goals on their list. They expressed their desire to have a child and welcomed Ace into their family. Their aim was also to get married, which they did, and buy a house, which they successfully purchased.
She went on to say, “I have no desire for action or setting goals right now. Instead, I long for tranquility, a deep sense of rest. My aim is simply to remain still and find contentment in our current situation, to cherish each other. That’s all I want.
Developing a connection while shooting the reality show ‘Ex on the Beach’ might not initially seem like the beginning of a romantic tale, but fast forward several years and the birth of two daughters named Mila and Maya, Cory and ‘Are You the One?’ alum Taylor Selfridge are still creating ripples.
In 2023, he confided in TopMob News that he had recently purchased a new home. He also acknowledged the curiosity of many regarding his wedding plans, stating, “We are indeed discussing it. All we lack is the ring and me proposing to her. Taylor truly deserves this moment, and it’s something we both desire. For now, we’re focusing on making our way towards that.
In the spirit of pushing my boundaries and making the best out of life’s twists and turns, I found myself checking into rehab not too long after tying the knot with Mackenzie Standifer in May 2017. Remarkably, our first son, Jagger, arrived in 2018 while I was still on my journey towards recovery.
Initially, the couple was thrilled to welcome daughter Stella into their family in January 2020; however, three years later, Mackenzie initiated a divorce proceeding. Currently, Ryan is betrothed to Amanda Conner, who is pregnant with their first child.
Despite their highly contentious relationship ending permanently in 2013, the pair successfully shared parenting responsibilities for their now-adolescent child, Leah, over the subsequent years.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2022, Amber shared, “We enjoy each other’s company from afar, yet our bond remains strong. Our connection has evolved into something akin to a family, so we prioritize it as such above all else.
It is true that families can have disagreements at times. Lately, it seems like Amber and Gary may not be on the best terms, as suggested by her frequent posts on social media making claims about him.
Following several years as a couple, a proposal being made and a brief spell on “Marriage Boot Camp,” Amber and Matt Baier (originally from Boston) ended their engagement in the year 2017.
In essence, Amber admitted during an interview with Dr. Drew Pinsky on his podcast that she reached a point where she grew tired of listening and gradually stopped caring about the relationship. She believes this indifference might have been the beginning of their issues. To protect herself from potential pain, she built a barrier around her emotions.
As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, I was beyond ecstatic when I, Amber, discovered a profound connection during the filming of “Marriage Boot Camp.” The one who captured my heart was none other than Andrew Glennon, a fellow crew member. We first stepped out together at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards, and our romance blossomed even more. Fast forward to May 2018, I was blessed with the birth of our beautiful baby boy, James.
However, following Amber’s arrest on charges of domestic battery in July 2019, the couple didn’t last much longer together. After a protracted legal dispute, it was determined in 2022 that California-born Andrew would have sole legal and primary physical custody of their son.
The “Teen Mom” celebrity expressed this during an interview with TopMob News: “I’ve put in a lot of effort to grow personally and strengthen my bonds with my kids.” She added, “Though I’ve been open about my history with substance abuse and mental health challenges, everyone deserves the opportunity to make amends and move past their past difficulties, rather than being defined by them.
With unwavering resilience, she expressed, “Even if your path hasn’t been smooth sailing, but you’ve strived to grow into a better, stronger, and compassionate individual today, continue on your journey as I do. I promise I will never cease my struggle for the children I cherish above all else.
Following an online encounter with Amber, Dimitri Garcia first appeared on “Teen Mom OG” in April 2020. On the program, Amber revealed, “Dimitri is from Belgium, he’s 39 years old, making him ten years my senior. However, he’s quite an attractive man.” She added, “As we grew more comfortable with each other, we decided it was best to meet since we both felt a connection.
In April 2021, Amber publicly shared on the Teen Mom OG reunion special that she was still in a relationship with Dimitri. She clarified, “We’ve been acquainted for about 18 months now, but I haven’t actually seen him for a year.” Despite not making an official breakup announcement, Amber later introduced her new boyfriend, Gary Wayt, during a June 2024 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
Following Amber linking up with Gary 2.0 through a dating app in autumn of 2023, he popped up on the screen when she presented him to her fellow ‘Teen Mom’ friends during a video call conversation.
Despite his proposal in May 2024, their relationship didn’t last long. During his visit to North Carolina for her brother’s wedding in June, they had an argument which led Gary to leave abruptly, causing Amber to file a missing person’s report.
And while Gary was soon located, the duo’s engagment wasn’t the only thing left broken.
Amber shared, on the show “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, that she spent three to four days in despair, believing her fiancé had passed away. She spoke of the agony of grieving and trying to comprehend the cruelty behind such a deception, expressing her current struggle with these emotional burdens.
She went on saying, “This man shattered me. Previously, I had been steady. For the first time in years, I’m not functioning optimally because a man proposed to me with a ring.
A few months following the birth of their daughter Emilee in April 2015, Gary and his wife Kristina Anderson decided to officially tie the knot at a charming beach wedding ceremony.
In a heartfelt Instagram post from 2022, I penned, “Among the most radiant spirits I’ve encountered, you stand out. I can’t help but wonder how I could navigate life without your presence by my side.
In December 2008, two months before Sophia’s birth, the man who was Farrah Abraham’s daughter’s father tragically passed away in an accident.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about Farrah’s romantic journey post her high school sweetheart’s passing. For more than two years, she found herself entangled, on and off, with the captivating Simon Saran, a man in the real estate business.
Despite our acrimonious parting in 2017, I’ve made an effort to maintain some semblance of friendship with them. However, it’s been challenging and fraught with tension at times.
Simon expressed to TopMob News that he holds no grudges against Farrah. He explained, “We come from distinct spheres. She thrives on a fabricated lifestyle, while I seek authenticity. I genuinely hope she finds prosperity and success in every aspect of her future.
Jenelle Evans and Andrew Lewis, who are the parents of now teenage Jace, separated soon after his birth in 2009. Unfortunately, since then, Jenelle has had little to no interaction in her son’s life.
On an episode of Teen Mom 2 from 2019, Jenelle mused, “I can’t help but feel regretful since he’s Jace’s father. Yet, I am well aware of his character, and I don’t want him to let down my son. I fear that he may reappear in our lives only to disappear again.
Following a one-year marriage with Courtland Rogers and the birth of her son Kaiser with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffin in 2014, Jenelle then tied the knot with David Eason on their North Carolina property in September 2017, eight months after they had their daughter Ensley.
Following a difficult period, David was accused and charged with a minor offense related to child abuse involving Jace. Jenelle described this as a smear campaign at the time. Later on, she disclosed that they had parted ways. She mentioned on social media that she would have chosen divorce immediately, but in North Carolina, one must be legally separated for a year before filing for divorce. Additionally, it’s necessary to show two separate residences as proof of separation.
Recall the charming individual who once inquired from his girlfriend, Chelsea Houska, about when he could “finalize the documents for that error” instead?
Completely in the rearview.
Despite the long odds, the former Teen Mom star and current HGTV personality maintains a surprisingly peaceful connection with her high school ex, Adam Lind, who is Aubree’s father. As she told Us Weekly, “There’s no negative energy and it’s just an open relationship.” She added, “We don’t have any lingering resentment, and when we do see each other, everything is fine.
In October 2016, the romantic encounter at a gas station in 2014 between Chelsea and Cole DeBoer evolved into an eternal bond. Since then, they have grown their family with the birth of their son Watson in 2017, followed by daughters Layne in 2018 and Walker in 2021. Recently, this loving couple embarked on a new venture together, launching their HGTV series titled Down Home Fab.
Speaking with TopMob News, Chelsea expressed her desire for their potential return to TV. She wanted it to be a fun, uplifting experience, allowing them to genuinely express themselves. In her words, this seemed like an exceptional chance to make it happen.
Initially friends and later spouses, Leah Messer and Corey Simms, aspired to create a lifelong union. However, just six months after their October 2010 wedding, the parents of teenage twins Aleeah and Aliannah chose to end their marriage by filing for divorce.
Corey has been married to Miranda Patterson since 2013.
In 2012, I was privileged to tie the knot with Jeremy Calvert, and the following year, we were blessed with our beautiful daughter, Adalynn.
(This sentence is written in first person, conveying that ‘Leah’ is speaking about herself and her experiences.)
Despite separating back in 2015, they have strived to share parenting responsibilities for their daughter, with varying outcomes at times. As Leah shared with TopMob News, she feels transformed and fulfilled by her experience as a mother. “I’m looking at the best version of myself,” she said. “Witnessing all the things they cherish and enjoy, and having the opportunity to be involved in their lives is simply enchanting. I adore it. I love being a mom, particularly a mother of girls.
By 2021, Jaylan Mobley had won over not only Leah but also her daughters, as demonstrated by their Instagram official relationship.
The couple announced their engagement in August 2022, but broke up that October.
A year ago, the ‘Teen Mom’ celebrity admitted to TopMob News that they truly benefited from their breakup. They explained that they have gained valuable insights from their past relationship and are now excited about what lies ahead as they feel their life is just starting fresh.
Kailyn Lowry became a mother to her oldest son, Isaac, who was born in 2010, when she was only 17 years old, with her high school sweetheart, Jo Rivera.
Despite parting ways a year later, they have now established a cordial co-parenting relationship. Notably, Kailyn hosts her discontinued podcast, “Baby Mamas No Drama,” alongside Vee Torres, Jo’s spouse. In a post on X after attending their 2018 wedding, Kailyn expressed, “We’ve come a long way since we were 18. I couldn’t ask for a better stepmother for Isaac.
In November 2013, Kailyn’s second child, Lincoln, became part of the team. This happened about a year after Kailyn, who was a prominent figure on Teen Mom 2 at the time, got married to his father, Javi Marroquin.
In late 2016, their relationship had its ups and downs, with Javi and his fiancée Lauren Comeau (parents of son Eli) announcing in December 2023 that they were expecting another child, this time a daughter together.
Kailyn had two sons, Lux and Creed, with her partner Chris Lopez while their relationship was on-again, off-again. However, in the end, they decided to part ways permanently.
In 2020, she shared with TopMob News that there is no communication between us at the moment. She expressed her hope that things will improve over time, but she doesn’t have a grand plan or vision for it. She emphasized that she has nothing negative to say about the situation. Her wish is for our children that everything gets resolved in its own way, regardless of the direction it may take.
Kailyn is content with her current partner, Elijah Scott, as she believes they have built a solid base for their relationship. In contrast to her previous partners and children’s fathers, she told People that Elijah stands out. He is the father of her son Rio and twins Verse and Valley. “He works with concrete, getting his hands dirty on the job,” she said of Elijah. “But he’s not just a hard worker; he’s also a dedicated family man. He has strong connections with his own family as well as ours, making him an excellent partner for me. I feel our partnership is a good fit.
A strong enough one that she finally said yes to one of his many proposals, in fact.
In an interview with TopMob News in September 2024, Kailyn confirmed that her neighbor-turned-partner had proposed marriage multiple times. However, she never explicitly said “no.” Instead, she explained, “I simply responded with ‘Yes,’ but clarified that it wasn’t the right time yet.
And while she admitted that the construction worker had indeed influenced her viewpoint on matrimony, she’s not in any hurry to run out and purchase a wedding gown. Kailyn humorously added, “The timing of our marriage seems to depend on the particular day I’m asked about it.
Despite facing numerous highs and lows since the birth of their child Kloie in 2017, Indiana residents Jade Cline and Sean Austin hinted to followers in January 2022 that things were looking up for them.
She shared with TopMob News that significant events impacted our lives, as well as substantial changes for Sean and his future. I’m incredibly proud of him and our current situation. Eight months after this conversation, they revealed their engagement, eventually tying the knot in October 2023.
In an interview with TopMob News in 2024, Jade admitted that her relationship isn’t flawless all the time. However, she emphasized that there is a strong bond of love between them, and they manage to navigate their challenges effectively.
In the year 2021, longtime residents of California, Ashley Jones and Bar Smith, secretly tied the knot. Four years prior, they had become parents to their beautiful daughter, Holly.
But after calling off their romance several times, Ashley officially filed for divorce in 2024.
After more than a decade since 16 and Pregnant star Briana DeJesus and Devoin Austin II became parents to their daughter Nova in 2011, there were signs that they might try rekindling their relationship.
Currently, in 2024, Briana expressed to TopMob News, “Nowadays, what I’m seeking is a true grown man, not the boys I’ve been accustomed to dating in my past.
Following her stint on the only season of Teen Mom 3, Briana became a part of Teen Mom 2 in its eighth series, and welcomed her second daughter, Stella, with ex-boyfriend Luis Miguel, on July 2017.
After that point, Luis’ presence has been inconsistent at most. In a December 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, Briana clarified to Dr. Drew, “I believe he desires a family with me, but since I’m not offering that, he seems to want nothing to do with me altogether.
