What About Morrowind?
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia when I realize that acrobatics, a key element that made Morrowind so captivating, has been omitted in Skyrim. Now, immersing myself in Oblivion for the first time, it’s clear to see why long-time series fans felt the same way when they found that skill missing in Skyrim.
However, both Oblivion and Morrowind share numerous common popular features. Yet, it’s important to note that Oblivion abandoned several of its unique mechanics. For example, in Morrowind, you could sell stolen items to any merchant, as long as you weren’t attempting to resell them to the person you originally stole them from.
According to u/Akasha1885 and u/Ganadote, Oblivion paved the way for the more streamlined gear in Skyrim by starting the trend of simplifying armor. In Morrowind, there were not only light, heavy, but also medium armor types, each divided into separate components like left and right footwear and hand accessories.
