Previously available on Netflix, the two solo Spidey movies featuring Andrew Garfield are now making their way over to Peacock. The popularity of both “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and its predecessor has surged since Garfield’s crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though Garfield is currently taking a break, he’s been thrilled by all the fan support following his recent appearance in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” If you’re yearning for a trip down memory lane to Peter Parker’s universe and how he ended up so battered before Tom Holland took over, you can stream both “The Amazing Spider-Man” movies on Peacock this weekend.
The triumph of his last Spider-Man performance has significantly amplified demands for more Amazing Spider-Man films. Following the explosive success of No Way Home, Garfield shared with Variety his experiences in that groundbreaking crossover movie. He values the chance to address what was his most emotionally challenging experience.
Over a two-week gaming session with Tobey, I believe we’ve created an experience that goes beyond just saying “Hi” and “Bye.” Garfield reminisced. My Spider-Man character got the chance to rescue his younger brother’s love life, which could be a significant turn of events. Moreover, he was able to address the most devastating moment in his own past by helping his younger brother, giving an element of cosmic beauty to the storyline. Ensuring that his brother wouldn’t face the same heartache, there’s something profoundly moving about that.
The actor noted that it was like getting another opportunity to rescue Gwen Stacy, a role played by Emma Stone in “The Amazing Spider-Man”. In essence, he finds the sincerity, purity, and affection Zendaya brings to MJ mirrors the unique spirit that Emma Stone brought to her portrayal of Gwen.
Will We Get More Amazing Spider-Man?
Spider-Man: No Way Home brought together the three different live-action Spiderman actors, giving Andrew Garfield an excellent platform to excel as Peter Parker. In the official art book of the film, it’s revealed that the story of the Amazing Spider-Man continues from this point. The fans have been vocal about their desire for Garfield to reprise his role in some form in future projects. There are even whispers on the internet suggesting he might appear in Spider-Man 4 alongside Tobey Maguire again, but nothing is officially confirmed yet. However, one thing is certain: Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man movie opened up some exciting possibilities for Garfield moving forward.
Garfield pondered, “It transformed his existence. Now, he’s returning with a newfound awareness that he has kin. He’s returning revitalized, eager to pursue his fate, his reason for being – the purpose of his life. By capturing MJ, he was able to rectify a devastating incident he had tried to evade in his reality.”
If he hadn’t been part of Peter 1’s world, it might have been MJ who suffered Gwen’s fate, the star contended. He was a ‘significant presence’ in that context. Furthermore, he is returning with his mind astounded by the mysteries of the cosmos, string theory, and multiple dimensions. He’s coming back filled with renewed energy.
