Fantastic Four Blast Off into the Past to Defeat Doctor Doom Once and For All

In the upcoming phase of “Fantastic Four” comics, Marvel’s original superhero team embarks on a thrilling time-travel escapade orchestrated by Doctor Doom. Marvel is now initiating its “One World Under Doom” storyline, where Doctor Doom declares his rule over the world. Naturally, the Fantastic Four and Avengers doubt Doom’s noble intentions. The recently published “One World Under Doom” #2 emphasizes a clash between Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four, while Marvel also reveals the relaunch of its “Fantastic Four” series to align with the launch of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The first issue of “Fantastic Four” begins in July, penned by current “FF” writer Ryan North and illustrated by Humberto Ramos. This installment occurs during “One World Under Doom” and sends the Marvel family on a journey through various periods in history. To return home, they must find the Forever Stone, a durable piece of granite that exists in every era, making it an ideal plot device for a time-travel tale.

Although the initial tale features dinosaurs and time travel, it primarily focuses on four extraordinary individuals and the profound love they share for one another, as North explained to The Hollywood Reporter. Many viewers associate the FF with family, and rightly so, but I believe there’s a unique beauty in friendship as well, which this story beautifully illustrates. It’s a blend of thought-provoking science fiction and genuine emotion – something that certainly appeals.

Humberto Ramos commented, “I’ve been fortunate to illustrate numerous legendary superheroes across the universe, but this project stood out from the beginning. Carrying the burden of history and legacy associated with these characters is a constant factor, regardless of who you are or your past experiences in this industry.

This book falls right in the midst of our ‘One World Under Doom’ series, so you can count on him having a significant part during the initial issues. Later on, there are scientific enigmas, supernatural creatures, and journeys to outer space unveiled, as he hinted.”

June’s Fantastic Four #33 marks the end of the current comic series, which will be rebooted in July. Coincidentally, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to premiere in theaters during the same month.

In issue #33 of the Fantastic Four comic series, the storyline involves the team venturing towards the Big Bang in an attempt to reverse Doctor Doom’s actions on Ben Grimm. On the cover, you can see the team dressed in spacesuits reminiscent of those they wore during their initial space mission, which granted them their extraordinary abilities.

AMAZING ZERO! The climax is here! Over 30 issues filled with thrilling adventures reach their peak in a final, pulse-pounding journey, tracing back… to the origins of ALL THINGS,” reads the solicitation for Fantastic Four #33. “As the key to what Doom did to Ben lies in the past, the Fantastic Four embark on a journey four hundred and thirty-six billion seconds into the Big Bang! Given the immense energies there, survival is impossible – unless H.E.R.B.I.E. can manage the exact timing needed. Prepare for a blend of high-octane action, exciting adventures, and thought-provoking concepts in this epic issue!
