In a fresh development, the recently established studio Big DIstraction – led by veterans from the AAA games industry with a focus on “enjoyment, sensation, and efficiency” – has unveiled LORT, an exhilarating cooperative roguelite action game designed for up to eight players. This captivating adventure unfolds within a haunted fantasy realm. The game is slated for release on PC via Steam in the last quarter of 2025.
Big Distraction, composed of developers who grew up with the internet, expressed their dissatisfaction with the AAA industry’s repeated disappointments for both players and creators. They yearn for a gaming experience that fosters camaraderie, reduces stress, and encourages collaboration. LORT is our inaugural project, and we are eager to share it with gamers by Q4 2025, just two years after we commenced development.

About
LORT is a cooperative action game for one to eight players, set in a fantasy world. Work together with friends to combat, gather loot, and amass over-the-top power-ups. Struggle to escape from the cursed realm, resuscitate your teammates, and become increasingly powerful, progressing from a goblin tormentor to a deity smiter.

- One-to-Eight Player Chaotic Player-Versus-Environment – Bring your homies (or bravely solo it, you absolute legend) for chaotic, over-the-top cooperative madness. Combo your attacks, cover each other’s backs, and rally your friends by blowing the tooter as the chaos scales from “this seems fine” to “oh no.”
- Your Weapon, Your Choice – Swords, wands, bows, or the age-old gun—it’s all up to you. Freely swap your weapons, discover explosive combos, and pick your favorite way to slap goblins into next week.
- Ridiculous Power-Ups – A power-up in your hand is worth two in a chest. Get to mixing, matching, and stacking to outhit and outlast your enemies with power-ups like:

- God Run– This isn’t just any run—it’s THE run. Achieve peak power-up perfection, become absurdly overpowered, and turn the tables on this cursed world. Goblins will tell horror stories about you.
- Create Your Stew of Power – Pick your ingredients. Choose your quests. Build the run you want. Choices you make stir the pot—determining which bizarre enemies, cursed locations, and giant, weirdo bosses show up to ruin your day. Cook up chaos, or play it smart… just don’t under-season it.
