Ubisoft has verified that the post-apocalyptic title Far Cry New Dawn will receive a 60 frames per second (FPS) upgrade on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. However, this enhancement comes at the cost of disabling the FPS Boost feature on Xbox Series X/S.
The update featuring the shooter’s inclusion to Game Pass will become active on February 4th. This is applicable for cloud, PC, and Xbox gaming systems. Originally launched in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and personal computers, “Far Cry New Dawn” takes place in Hope County, Montana, a region grappling with the aftermath from “Far Cry 5”.
While there’s a resemblance in gameplay to its previous version, players have the opportunity to venture into different places called Expeditions for resources. New features include various weapons, crafting options, and adversaries that have undergone mutations. For comprehensive information, don’t forget to read our review where we awarded it a score of eight out of ten.
It’s been quiet on the future of the franchise, but there are rumors about the development of “Far Cry 7” and a spin-off titled “Maverick“. According to reports, both games might be released next year, breaking away from the usual pattern of the series.
Surprise! We’re upgrading Far Cry New Dawn on Xbox Series X|S to run at 60 FPS! However, we want to make sure everything goes smoothly, so we’ll be turning off the FPS Boost feature for a moment starting at 4 PM PST (Feb 1, 0000 UTC). Thanks for your understanding and patience!

By the way, PS5 gamers, you’ll also receive the update for smoother 60 FPS gameplay! 🎉 However, it’s important to note that this FPS Boost enhancement is exclusive to Xbox Series X and S at the moment.
