Fast & Furious Fans Think Häagen-Dazs Super Bowl Commercial Is Missing A Key Character

For quite a while now, there’s been no significant news regarding the 11th (and presumably last) Fast & Furious movie. However, some key members of the Fast & Furious crew have reunited to star in a new Häagen-Dazs Super Bowl commercial. Unfortunately for dedicated Fast & Furious fans, this advertisement fails to include the character from the franchise who would’ve been ideal for it.

In this advertisement, you’ll find Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez (famous for their roles as Dom and Letty in the Fast movies) cruising along a winding mountain pass with their convertible’s top off. Suddenly, Rodriguez unwraps a Häagen-Dazs ice cream bar, and they take a moment to enjoy it, slowing down to appreciate the scenery and savor life at a slower pace. When Chris “Ludacris” Bridges appears beside them, urging them to pick up the speed, Diesel just shakes his head, saying “Not today.

It’s great, but it’s a little disheartening that in the Fast and Furious ad for a snack, none of the team members who are famously associated with eating are featured. I’m referring specifically to Han, the well-liked character from Fast and Furious, portrayed by Sung Kang.

In case you remember, Han first appeared in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”. He met an untimely end in a car crash (which we discovered was orchestrated by Jason Statham’s character, Deckard Shaw). However, Han reappeared in subsequent films as they were set before “Tokyo Drift”, but the clamor from fans about his distressing demise was immense. As a result, Han was eventually reintroduced to the storyline.

Almost every scene featuring Han shows him munching on some food, a habit that originated from the 2002 movie “Better Luck Tomorrow” directed by Justin Lin, where Kang portrayed an initial characterization of Han.

Over time, Han’s signature move has been his penchant for snacking, and it seems like a significant oversight that Kang wasn’t included in the Häagen-Dazs Super Bowl ad. Although he might not have the widespread fame of those in the commercial, Fast & Furious is a global film phenomenon, and he’s just as integral to it as any other cast member – at least from the perspective of fans.

It’s possible that an extended edition of the advertisement may appear online, including Han in some role. However, given his absence from the major game commercial, it appears as though he might have recorded something for the ads if they were going to use him.
