City of the Wolves” will be Andy Bogard. This fighter is set to join the game on June 24th and marks the first of five Season 1 DLC characters planned for this fighting game.
In the English version of the show, Kieran Regan will portray the character Andy Bogard, while in the Japanese version, it will be Hiroshi Okamoto. Andy Bogard is a shinobi from South Town who specializes in close-combat using the Shiranui-style taijutsu. He has been a mentor to many young ones in the village where Mai Shiranui resides. Having reached maturity, Hokutomaru, his disciple, has ventured out, and this has prompted Andy Bogard to embark on a journey after him.
In addition to being selectable as a playable character in the main 1-on-1 game setting, Andy Bogard can also be utilized within the single-player Role-Playing Game (RPG) mode in “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves”. Known as Episodes of South Town, this RPG mode for Andy provides Fatal Fury enthusiasts with an opportunity to delve deeper into not just Andy Bogard’s background, but also the lore of South Town.
In the trailer for Andy Bogard in “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves,” various basic combos are demonstrated along with advanced techniques such as sliding assaults and even mid-air grappling maneuvers. Additionally, Bogard has methods to outmaneuver defensive opponents, enabling him to strike them from behind while they’re blocking, using unexpected moves to catch them off guard.
It’s interesting to note that Andy is demonstrating all his techniques against his ex-disciple, Hokutomaru. This confrontation might be seen as Andy trying to impart some intricate aspects of the Shiranui style to his student.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that every character from Season 1 of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is now accessible through the Special Edition of the game. Interestingly, the developers have mentioned that they don’t have any immediate plans to sell the base game and its Season 1 Pass separately, which means if you want to enjoy all these characters, the Special Edition seems like the perfect choice!
In the summer of 2025, Andy Bogard will be succeeded by Ken from Street Fighter, followed by Joe Higashi in the fall. Then, Chun-Li from Street Fighter will appear in winter 2025, and finally, Mr. Big is expected to join in early 2026.
It’s worth noting that back in April, a trailer unveiled Hokutomaru, Andy Bogart’s student, as part of the main game’s lineup. Prior to training under Bogard in South Town, Hokutomaru actually came from the neighboring mountains. He combines moves from the Shiranui style with his own skills, and possesses both Ignition and Redline Gears. Additionally, he has a secret technique called Hidden Gear that blends Mai Shiranui’s abilities with his own.
