As a seasoned gamer with decades of fighting game history under my belt, I must say, I’m utterly thrilled about SNK’s latest announcement – Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Having grown up with the original Garou: Mark of the Wolves, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of a 3D remake, new characters, and an expansive single-player mode.
As a hardcore gamer, I’m pumped about SNK’s latest move with “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” – a follow-up to the legendary “Garou: Mark of the Wolves”. They’re not just tinkering around; they’re going all-in! Not only are we getting a shift from 2D to full 3D gameplay, but there are brand new characters joining the fray. But that’s not all, they’ve also got an expansive single-player mode, Episodes of South Town, in store for us. On top of that, they’re cooking up a storm with plenty of post-launch DLC content to keep us hooked!
Yasuyuki Oda, the producer, recently chatted with Retro Gaming Crew and revealed that the team has mapped out three years’ worth of downloadable content for the game. Since the game is scheduled to debut next year, this means there will be fresh material until 2028. While details about all future DLC are yet to be disclosed, it’s been made clear that Season Pass 1 will introduce five new characters into the mix, with the first two arriving in Summer 2025.
In the Special Edition of the game, The King of Fighters 15, which is priced at $59.99, comes with the base content already included. There’s no choice to buy either the base game or the additional features separately. The game will be released on April 24th, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
