As a long-time fan of SNK’s fighting games, I must say that the announcement of Gato joining the roster for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has me truly excited! Having followed his adventures since his debut in Garou: Mark of the Wolves and multiple King of Fighters titles, it feels like a homecoming to see him back in action.
In 2025, SNK’s impact on the continuous evolution of the fighting genre is set to continue with the revival of the Garou franchise, titled “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.” Recently, the developer has unveiled another character who will be part of the game at its launch. For enthusiasts of SNK’s previous creations, this character is a recognizable figure from their past works.
In the upcoming game “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves”, martial artist character Gato – known from “Garou: Mark of the Wolves” and various “King of Fighters” series – will be a playable character. After largely recovering his eyesight, he’s eager to return to combat, mainly to avenge himself against his father. The Japanese voice for Gato is provided by Yuma Yamaguchi, while Cory Yee handles the English version. Take a peek at the trailer to get a glimpse of this fighter.
Cat is part of a lineup of fighters that were previously unveiled for the game’s release, alongside characters like Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Mai Shiranui, Kim Dong Hwan, Hotaru Futaba, and Tizoc, among others. SNK has announced that the game will be supported with three years worth of additional content after its launch. It is also confirmed that Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li will be part of the game’s first year DLC.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is due out on April 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC.
