After an absence of more than two decades, one of the much-adored and impactful fighting game series has made its comeback. The latest installment in the saga, titled Fatal Fury: City of Wolves, signals the resurgence of the SNK franchise, offering a distinctive taste to the world of fighting games. Luckily for enthusiasts, it’s not just a nostalgic trip but also a strong comeback, as it has been met with generally favorable reviews following its release this week. However, much like other video game launches today, a few glitches have managed to sneak through, affecting the player experience. This appears to be true for the new fighter, but SNK is working on a patch to address these problems.
Titled “Version 1.1.3,” the latest update for “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” is relatively minor in scope. Nevertheless, it significantly alters three particular characters: Terry Bogard, Marco Rodrigues, and the guest character Salvatore Ganacci. The adjustments to Terry are specifically related to his DLC costume from “Fatal Fury 2,”, which was a pre-order bonus. The most substantial changes are being made to Marco and Salvatore. Marco can no longer transition into a Far Heavy Kick (Feint) from a Combo Attack, and the timing for canceling Salvatore’s Magical Step has been delayed compared to the original version.
If not addressed, the patch notes will rectify several problems. Currently, there are three known issues that SNK is actively working on and will notify players once they have been resolved. More precisely, these glitches are affecting guard canceling, the replay function, and the single-player mode called “Episodes of South Town” in the game Fatal Fury: City of Wolves. Here is the complete list of changes for version 1.1.3 update:
* Resolved an issue that caused certain characters to have reduced damage output when using special moves or super moves.
* Addressed a bug that prevented players from canceling guard moves during specific situations.
* Fixed an error in the replay function where replays were not being saved correctly, causing them to play back incorrectly.
* Improved the performance of the single-player mode “Episodes of South Town” by reducing load times and improving overall stability.
* Implemented new balance adjustments for various characters to make gameplay more balanced and fair.
* Made general improvements to the user interface, such as updating menus, adjusting button prompts, and optimizing text display.
