As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say Remedy Entertainment’s announcement of FBC: Firebreak has me buzzing with anticipation. After the captivating journey through Control, the prospect of diving back into the Oldest House, albeit reimagined for co-op mayhem, is a tantalizing one. The promise of humor injected into the gameplay is an added bonus that I eagerly look forward to experiencing.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to announce that Remedy Entertainment’s long-awaited project, previously known as Project Condor, has now been unveiled as FBC: Firebreak – an exhilarating first-person co-op spin-off from Control. This marks a groundbreaking new direction for the studio, representing their first self-published title and delving into the realm of multiplayer shooters. In a fresh Community First Look video, the team has shared some fascinating insights into the game’s development process.
In addition, it’s been established that Firebreak: Firebreak Chronicles takes place some years after the events of Control. As members of the Federal Bureau of Control, players will handle dangers to the bureau’s headquarters, The Oldest House. Although The Oldest House is a carryover from Control, it has been completely redesigned to accommodate cooperative chaos. The developers also touch upon the inclusion of humor in the game and their plans to integrate it effectively.
2025 sees the arrival of Firebreak, my next big gaming adventure, landing on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. This game will be available right from launch day on PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, PlayStation Plus Extra, and Premium. Remedy Entertainment isn’t planning to follow a live-service model but will continue to deliver new content post-launch. As for the price, it’s being billed as “mid-priced,” so keep your eyes peeled for more updates in the upcoming months!
