While the movie hints at possible links between characters like Nancy Falconer and the massacre or the Goode family, these connections are not thoroughly explored. The loss of loved ones or friends during that event could have significantly affected both students and faculty members, and these emotional repercussions might have been more pronounced during the horrific slasher incidents portrayed in “Prom Queen”.
In the latest movie, the traumatic memories of the prom queen hopefuls’ murals from ten years ago would still be raw and unhealed. Linking this story more closely to the 1978 massacre by incorporating characters like the Berman sisters, Tommy Slater, or the Goode family could have intensified the emotional impact on viewers in the new film. However, the movie seems disconnected because it doesn’t make those connections.
In the movie Fear Street: Prom Queen, there are relatively few links to the broader series, which is quite a letdown.
