Feast of Pursuit Event Guide

Stage 1 – Vines Are His Arrow

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Bloom Team: Nilou + Nahida + Dendro + Hydro
(2) Burning Team: Nahida/Kinich + Emilie + Thoma + Xiangling
(3) Hyperbloom Team: Alhaitham/Nahida + Xingqiu + Kuki Shinobu + Flex(4) Catalyze Team: Tighnari + Yae Miko + Nahida + Zhongli
(5) 4-Star Team: Sucrose + Xingqiu + Kuki Shinobu + Dendro MC/Collei

To maximize your Elemental Mastery by 400 points, position a stage prop that offers this bonus when you successfully trigger Dendro-associated interactions (such as Swirl, Bloom, or Hyperbolic/Melt reactions) a total of 30 times. Ensure at least one character on your team possesses the Dendro attribute to utilize the buff effectively.

> How To Defeat

Initially, you’ll find two Tepetlisaurus and two Koholasaurus. To ensure a strategic start when the challenge commences, move towards one of the Koholasauruses, allowing the other dinosaurs (Tepetlisaurus, being swift, will catch up eventually, while Koholasaurus moves at a leisurely pace).

Pay attention during the game, as Thunderstrikes will approach your character’s location approximately every 10 seconds. If they hit you, your character will acquire an Engulfing Storm status, causing them to lose 3 Energy each second until this Electro element is eliminated. This can be done either by waiting for 5 seconds or using a cleansing agent like Bennett or Jean.

In the second wave, three Vishaps cluster together. Adjust your camera angle to capture all of them in a straight line, so when one moves erratically, it won’t stray too far from its companions. However, be aware that they possess a skill that allows them to sprint away from you at great distances, so I wish you the best of luck!

In the recent wave, you’ll find 3 elusive enemies known as Shadowy Husk. Just like in the previous wave, your goal is to congregate them in one spot. Begin with the Hydro Husks (Line Breaker) first since he can charge forward with his spear, potentially moving away from the others. If you take a shield into this stage, when the Shadowy Husks strike it, they’ll deplete some of their health to acquire a buff. This is advantageous as their health decreases, but also detrimental because they become empowered with a buff.

Shadowy Husk: Protector – Equipped with a bow, it defends itself by creating a protective barrier from frontal attacks, and gains an additive attack boost each time it hits a protected opponent.

Since we’re up against three relentless Maguu Kenki, it would be beneficial to have an Area of Effect Damage Per Second (AoE DPS) character with you. Moreover, when taking a Hydro character, avoid Xingqiu and Barbara as their self-generated Hydro might freeze you due to the Cryo AoE field of the Maguu Kenki.

> How To Defeat

As soon as the battle commences, you’ll find that the three Maguu Kenkis are clustered together and there won’t be any introductory animations. My advice is to straight away dash towards the regular Maguu Kenki and deploy one Elemental Burst, as they all initiate with their ‘Ultimate’ attack. This way, you can dodge them by taking advantage of the invincibility frame provided by your Burst. It’s important to note that the Cryo Maguu Kenki always begins with a dash and then generates a Cryo Damage over Time field.

Following your initial alert, move yourself so that both Anemo and regular Maguu Kenki are in close proximity (or you’re situated between the two). This should draw the Cryo Maguu Kenki closer to you as well. Once all three Maguu Kenki are grouped together, feel free to use all your Skills and Bursts.

Absolutely, you could store some of your Elemental Burst and use it as a way to dodge when the Cryo Maguu Kenki begins charging his Cryo Damage over Time field. Other than that, just be careful to avoid their lethal attacks and continue dealing high damage. I’m afraid there isn’t much more advice to give in this situation.

Stage 2 – “Those Who Devour Elements”

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Burning Team: Kinich + Emilie + Thoma + Xiangling
(2) Vaporize Team: Mualani + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha/Xilonen(3) Mono-Pyro: Arlecchino/Hu Tao + Kachina + Kazuha + Bennett
(4) 4-Star Team: Heizou + Xingqiu + Kaeya + Rosaria
(5) 4-Star Team: Bennett + Xiangling + Kaeya + Rosaria

As a fan, I’d share this strategy: The stage buff character offers a 75% boost in damage for both Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills after using an Elemental Skill eight times. If your characters hail from Natlan, there’s an extra 50% damage bonus, totalling 125%. If you’re lucky to have Kinich and Mualani (Natlan’s DPS duo), they’d benefit greatly from this 125% DMG Bonus. However, if you don’t have them, any characters are fine as long as the Main DPS primarily relies on Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills for damage output.

> How To Defeat

In the initial round, a single Mirror Maiden appears. As no other adversary is present, your focus should primarily be on her ability to teleport. You can employ the Freeze team to keep her immobilized throughout her time in the battlefield. If you decide to bring additional teams, simply track her movements since there’s only one foe in this round, making it relatively easy to do so.

During the second phase, you’ll encounter two formidable Eremite elite opponents. Fortunately, they won’t summon their beasts immediately; instead, they’ll only do so when their health drops below 70%. Until then, you have the option to concentrate your efforts on a single Eremite. However, ensure that the other Eremite remains close to the one you are attacking, so that if the leading Eremite is knocked back, the second one can move closer. This way, when the frontline Eremite staggers, they’ll be in position to respond quickly.

In the final wave, there’s an appearance of the Hydro Wayob foe. Initially, this adversary sets up an Arena: erecting a non-elemental barrier around itself that absorbs all your energy. If you fail to destroy the barrier before it’s too late, the Wayob will establish a Hydro barrier based on the remaining shield. However, if you succeed in breaking the barrier within the set timeframe, you’ll be rewarded with an abundance of energy. Alternatively, you could follow my strategy and immobilize the enemy, preventing them from moving at all throughout the entire encounter.

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Burning Team: Kinich + Emilie + Bennett + Xiangling
(2) Freeze Team: Ayaka + Shenhe + Kokomi + Kazuha(3)

In this battle, you’ll encounter novel adversaries who have protective barriers that can be shattered with elemental attacks. Notably, characters from Natlan, equipped with their Nightsoul Burst, can penetrate the shield more swiftly due to the game’s mechanics.

> How To Defeat

Initially, the adversaries you’ll encounter are known as Chasmic Mimiflora. In this stage, there are two of them. During Wave 1, they will imitate Ruin Guard, and during Wave 2, they will mimic Secret Source Automaton.

After filling up the Ward bar, they would return to Chasmic Mimiflora. Given that they’re in their natural form, they’re quite soft and require some time to recover, it’s best to attack aggressively and inflict as much damage as possible!

Mimiflora can be preserved using Freeze team, which is beneficial for immobilizing it and temporarily halting its Ward regeneration. However, the Freeze technique doesn’t entirely halt the shield recovery timer. Once unfrozen after 20 seconds, the shield will be immediately reinstated. While frozen, though, Mimiflora cannot reinstate its shield.

Stage 3 – Master of Fire and Water

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Vaporize Team: Mualani + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha/Xilonen(2) Vaporize Team (2): Arlecchino + Yelan + Flex + Flex
(3) 4-Star Team: Yanfei + Xingqiu + Bennett + Xiangling

On this stage, the character known as the ‘Buff’ offers a 100% damage boost for both regular and charged attacks once your team has activated Vaporize ten times. To maximize these free enhancements, it’s recommended to use a Vaporize-focused team. However, be aware that this buff is exclusive to normal and charged attacks, so ensure you have a character with skills that take advantage of this boost.

> How To Defeat

Initially, there are two Construction Specialist Meka (Entities) in the first wave, as depicted in the image above. Noticeably, one of the opponents has an Area of Effect (AoE) surrounding them. This AoE enhances the attack power and Elemental Resistance of the enemies within it. Despite being somewhat misleading, it’s crucial to disregard this AoE and concentrate on defeating one enemy before moving onto the next one. Ideally, you should eliminate the enemy outside of the AoE first, followed by the buffed enemy. However, if you prefer to gather them in a single area, feel free to do so.

In the second round, I’m up against two Ruin Guards. They’ll be hot on my heels, so it’s just a matter of time before they corner each other. Once that happens, it’s all about unleashing raw power. If you’ve got a Bow character, you might want to focus on their vulnerable spot. But if you’re comfortable with your damage output, you can skip that and simply spam your Skill or Burst instead.

In the third phase, you’ll find two Ruin Drakes. Like before, they will move towards your position for easy crowd control. For these two beasts, when they begin to charge, it is advisable to aim at their vulnerable spots to prevent them from increasing their Elemental Defense (refer to the picture below).

On the left side, when they initiate ‘assault’, target the glowing center on its face to immobilize the Ruin Drake. Failing to immobilize the adversary within a short timeframe will cause it to become resistant to the type of Elemental Damage it previously sustained. Given that it already has a stage buff boosting its Attack and Elemental Resistance, you aim to avoid further increasing its resistance. At this juncture, you should have already set off enough ‘Vaporize’ reactions to secure the 100% bonus for Normal and Charged Attacks.

Give priority to including Vaporize on your team as it offers a 100% boost for Normal Attack and Charged Attack damage. Moreover, ensure that at least one character has Pyro abilities, as you’ll need to ignite Flamegranades during this stage when the boss summons them.

> How To Defeat

In essence, this adversary shares identical traits with the overworld chief. It boasts an impressive 70% Resistance to Dendro elements, implying that Dendro damage dealers might not be as effective against it. If anything varies, then perhaps its damage output is elevated compared to regular foes. Given its predominantly melee abilities, it’s best not to wander too far from this formidable creature, unless you possess a ranged damage dealer. In the event that you find yourself at a distance, beware as the boss may lash out using its tongue to close the gap on your position.

Watch out for one maneuver among two crucial ones: the rapid belly rotation, which isn’t officially named, as it involves spinning on its stomach while advancing towards you. Although the damage inflicted isn’t excessive, if your character doesn’t have a defensive shield in place beforehand, they will be pushed back.

When Yumkasaur calls forth Flamegranates, your task is to ignite them with Pyro whenever they appear. If Yumkasaur doesn’t consume them promptly, they will detonate on the ground, dealing significant damage to the boss (approximately 528,020 damage per explosion, which is a substantial blow). If, however, Yumkasaur consumes them before they can explode, they will detonate within the boss’ mouth instead.

Should you fail to destroy all the Flamegranates before their consumption by the boss, the amount of damage inflicted would depend on how many Flamegranates were consumed. If the Yumkasaur consumes 3, it will utilize the first 2 as ammunition, launching the ignited Flamegranates, and the last one will be transformed into an energy beam.

Stage 4 – “Heart of the Boulder”

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Crystallize Team: Navia + Xilonen + Bennett + Xiangling(2) Vaporize Team: Arlecchino + Yelan + Kachina + Zhongli
(3) Overload Team: Raiden Shogun + Bennett + Chevreuse + Kujou Sara
(4) Noelle Furina Team: Noelle + Furina + Gorou + Geo (4) 4-Star Team: Kachina + Fischl + Bennett + Xiangling

The character positioned on the stage offers a complimentary 100% Geo Damage Multiplier Bonus once your team activates Crystallize 12 times. Although this bonus is effective, it truly excels when a Geo character serves as the main damage dealer. In my viewpoint, it’s not necessary to confine your team composition to a Geo team if you lack a Geo DPS. Instead, feel free to utilize any team that can erode the Electro, Cryo, or Geo shields in this stage, such as the Overload team.

> How To Defeat

In the initial encounter, instead of moving towards the Electro Lawachurl, step back slightly so it charges towards your position. By doing this, its charging skill will be on cooldown, preventing it from lunging at you while you’re activating your Elemental Burst.

During the second wave, you’ll encounter a single Cryo Lawachurl. As in the past, it’s advisable to provoke them into performing a charging attack at another location initially before unleashing your Elemental Burst. However, feel free to use your Skill and Burst immediately without worrying about their charging attack as well. They won’t keep charging continuously.

In the third round, there are two Construction Specialists named Mekas. They’ll pursue you without a specific strategy, so your task is simply to engage in combat with them while dodging their attacks. It would be advantageous if you could entice them towards the arena’s edge, preventing them from straying too far apart during their assaults.

For the last wave, we have 3 Praetorian Golems. When they spawn, go to the middle one and let the others go after you. Then, all you have to do is destroy their Geo shields to paralyze them.

Although Geo DPS is highly recommended here because you’ll get 100% Geo DMG after triggering Crystallize 12 times, what’s more important here is a character that can climb a Phlogiston aka Xilonen and Kachina. Kazuha’s Skill and Zhongli’s pillar also do the tricks but definitely not as efficient as Xilonen here. As long as you bring them, you can bring other OP DPS like Neuvillette or Arlecchino if you have them.

> How To Defeat

In the new update at version 5.1, there’s a fresh boss, and it has a unique feature when you bring along a Natlan character. When a Natlan character is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, it will fill the Adaptive Countermeasures bar beneath the HP bar. Once full, it will produce two Solid Phlogiston, as shown in the image above. Then, it will begin charging for its Ultimate attack. To stop this charge, you need to ascend the Phlogiston and attack the ‘Accretion Mechanism’ at its peak. If you find regular climbing ineffective, consider using either Kachina or Xilonen, or resort to cheating with Kazuha or Wanderer’s Skill, or even climb Zhongli’s pillar to reach the top of the Phlogiston.

Once the task begins, feel free to deploy all your skills and powers without reservation. This boss hardly moves, making it simple for you to attack. Maintain this strategy until it produces the Solid Phlogiston.

Once you’ve managed that, employ Xilonen or Kachina (or other shortcuts) to ascend the Phlogiston and disable the machinery. Typically, a single strike is sufficient to annihilate it. Following this, the boss will momentarily be immobilized, so once more, release all your power. That’s the strategy. Essentially, you just need to attack it until it summons Solid Phlogistons.

Stage 5 – “Nightsoul-Encircled Domain”

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Burning Team: Kinich + Emilie + Thoma + Xiangling
(2) Vaporize Team: Mualani + Xiangling + Bennett + Kazuha/Xilonen(3) Mono-Pyro: Arlecchino/Hu Tao + Kachina + Kazuha + Bennett
(4) 4-Star Team: Heizou + Xingqiu + Kaeya + Rosaria
(5) 4-Star Team: Bennett + Xiangling + Kaeya + Rosaria

The stage accessory, referred to as the buff, boosts damage by 100% once your team activates Nightsoul Burst twice. You can utilize characters from Natlan such as Mualani and Kinich for damage output, or you can bring Kachina and Xilonen from Natlan, acting as support/sub-DPS to activate the Nightsoul Bursts. After this, you may switch back to your primary DPS. This strategy is advantageous because with just two activations of Nightsoul Bursts, you receive a massive 100% damage bonus.

> How To Defeat

Initially, within each wave, there’s an area known as the Duel Zone marked by an Area of Effect (AoE) circle. To enjoy a 20% boost in damage output, make sure to position your character inside this Duel Zone. If you remain outside of this AoE zone, your character will suffer damage every couple of seconds instead.

Here are just three waves in this encounter, and each wave contains exactly three adversaries. The approach remains consistent throughout the waves; prioritize the elite foe, the one with the Duel Zone, while allowing the other opponents to pursue you naturally. Since they usually move swiftly towards you, there’s no need to concern yourself with them.

In this stage, it feels more about surviving than focusing on Damage Per Second (DPS) checks, truth be told. There’s a DPS check too, by the way. The most effective elements for dealing with the turtle’s Electro shield are Dendro and Pyro. However, what’s concerning is the immense damage he can inflict when spinning or when his shield is up, as it can reflect your own damage back at you. Pairing Xilonen with Dehya works exceptionally well in this scenario.

> How To Defeat

During combat, keep in mind that a bar beneath the boss’ Health Points (Fury bar) grows each time you strike it. When the bar is completely filled, it will generate a Thunderthorn defense barrier. While this barrier is active, the boss gains heightened attack power and becomes immune to damage. If your character attacks it directly (excluding damage from off-field characters), the barrier retaliates with a counterattack.

Another attack to be wary of is the spinning one where it will continue to spin for ~7 seconds. Unless you have Dehya’s Sanctum Fiery field, it’s best to just run away because single damage from a single spin is not that bad, but when you get hit continuously without any protection? Say goodbye to that character.

Here are two particularly risky attacks you should be mindful of. In general, you can either dodge them or endure them with a protective shield. Additionally, if those options aren’t available, go for the straightforward approach and smash the turtle!

Stage 6 – “Cadence of the Elements”

Difficulty: Desperate

> Monster List

> Team Recommendation

Difficulty: Desperate (1) Raiden National: Raiden Shogun + Xingqiu + Bennett + Xiangling
(2) Taser Team: Sucrose + Xingqiu + Fischl + Beidou(3) Melt Team: Kaeya + Rosaria + Bennett + Xiangling
(4) 4-Star Team: Heizou + Xingqiu + Bennett + Xiangling

The character offering a stage bonus boosts Elemental Burst damage by approximately 80% and increases Energy Recharge by 50%, provided your team activates the Elemental Burst ability five times. These bonuses are quite beneficial, and the method for obtaining them is straightforward. Assemble a team featuring characters with swift Burst cooldowns to repeatedly activate them (ensuring they also have sufficient Energy Recharge).

> How To Defeat

Initially, you’ll find three fundamental structures known as Primal Constructs. At the onset of the battle, position yourself at either the leftmost or rightmost Primal Construct and align all the adversaries. Typically, the one furthest away will advance towards you, allowing you to corral them all into a single area without needing Anemo Crowd Control. If they don’t come close enough, you’ll have to defeat each enemy individually. Ideally, you should be able to gather them all before they activate their invisibility ability.

In the second wave, you’ll find two types of Meks: a Suppression Mek and an Assault Mek. One can inflict Pyro damage, while the other deals Dendro damage. Be cautious of their Burning reaction. When engaging one of the Meks (particularly the Suppression Mek as it moves slower than the other), ensure that the other Mek is close by, following closely behind the one you’re attacking.

In the third phase, there are two Ruin Drakes named Earthguards. These two will chase after you relentlessly, but don’t worry about their weak spots or precise aiming. Instead, concentrate on attacking them repeatedly. Since you should have the stage buff by now, continuously use your Elemental Burst and the enemies should disintegrate before they can get close enough to attack.

In the latest onslaught, there are two Ruin Graders. While one of their abilities has them charging toward you, the rest of their skills can be dodged with relative ease. So, if you’re up for it, let’s go head-on! If you wish to target their vulnerable point, it would be beneficial to have an archer character in your team, as aside from the core on their feet, you also need to hit the core on their head quickly to immobilize them.

In simpler terms,

As a passionate supporter, I’d say you’ve got two solid options to pick from based on what suits your team best. For the Activated state, be mindful of Jadeplume’s formidable assaults – they pack quite a punch! Instead, bide your time and strike only when it’s immobilized, allowing you to unleash a flurry of attacks without worry.

To prevent Fungi spores from sprouting in the Scorched state, use an Elemental Area-of-Effect (AoE) attack like Electro, Hydro, or Pyro within a 3-second window. This quick action will ensure that no more Fungi can appear. Any of these elemental attacks would work effectively in this situation.

If you neglect to eliminate those spores, fungi will multiply. While their harm might seem insignificant, the irritating aspect lies in the fact that your focus could shift from the boss to the mobs, costing valuable time.
