As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that The Game Awards 2024 was a spectacle to behold! With over two thousand votes cast and twenty exciting PS5 announcements to choose from, it’s clear that the gaming community is as passionate as ever.

Last week, right after The Game Awards 2024 concluded, we invited our Push Square community to cast their votes for what they considered the most impressive reveal during the entire event.

Almost 2,000 votes were cast, split across 20 PS5-related reveals.

Here we go, straight to the point: Here’s the countdown of the top 10 most popular announcements at The Game Awards 2024, according to your votes!

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound – 10 votes represent 1%

3. Okami Sequel – 156 votes (9%)

Without specifying a release date, the specific platforms it will be available on, or any details about its development timeline, it’s still exciting news: Okami is indeed receiving a sequel, and that alone is thrilling!

It’s astonishing to reflect on the fact that the initial version of Okami came out on the PS2 as far back as 2006, and yet, this much-adored franchise has been largely absent from the scene for nearly twenty years, with no significant sequel in sight.

Without a doubt, Capcom is eager to revisit beloved titles like Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and it shows in their latest project. We’re thrilled to follow along on this anticipated journey, which promises to be visually stunning.

2. The Witcher 4 – 362 votes (20%)

Making rapid progress towards second position with an impressive 20% of the votes, we have The Witcher 4. This highly-anticipated title unveiled a stunning CG trailer at Geoff Keighley’s event, filled with exciting revelations, intense action sequences, and heartfelt storytelling.

Due to CD Projekt Red’s openness about their projects, it’s no secret that we’ve been aware of The Witcher 4 for a while now. However, the formal announcement took even some gamers by surprise.

Since The Witcher 3 is often considered among the greatest RPGs of all time, it’s no wonder there’s so much anticipation for its successor. Despite some apprehensions about Ciri stepping into the leading role, particularly from a writing and storytelling perspective, it’s tough to imagine CD Projekt Red making any major mistakes with this highly-anticipated sequel.

1. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – 632 votes (36%)

At last, during the concluding revelation of The Game Awards 2024, we were privy to a glimpse of what Naughty Dog has been meticulously developing for so many years.

The game “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet” unveiled an extensive trailer, offering a glimpse into a vintage sci-fi universe where you assume the role of tough bounty hunter Jordan. This marks a daring shift, departing from the familiar territory of PlayStation Studio, following the acclaimed “The Last of Us”.

While the exact release date for Intergalactic by Sony is yet to be confirmed, they typically reveal details about their projects when they’re nearly complete. A release in 2025 might be a stretch given that Ghost of Yotei is set for next year. On the other hand, 2026 seems like a more plausible timeline.

Regardless, it seemed that everyone greatly appreciated this announcement. Intergalactic garnered significantly more votes than many of the top ten combined, making it undeniably the favorite choice.
