As a seasoned adventurer who’s spent countless hours delving into the depths of various underground labyrinths, I can confidently say that unlocking The Mines in Fields of Mistria is an absolute must for any aspiring treasure hunter like myself!
As you progress in building your town within the realm of Fields of Mistria, one of your initial objectives will involve unveiling The Mines, commencing with its introductory level.
At present, the mines are broken down into several distinct areas, starting with the Upper Mines. Each area offers unique discoveries, yet they all come with potential hazards. Braving these risks, however, promises substantial rewards!
To start, let’s guide you on how to gain access to The Mines before we proceed. This guide will assist you in doing just that!
How to Unlock The Mines First Section – Upper Mines
You can access the initial Mines area of the game only when your town achieves Stone Star Rank and it’s already Day 6 of Spring. This requires elevating your town’s prestige to Level 10, which will be the first time you upgrade your town within the game.
To boost your reputation, all you need is to accomplish diverse tasks scattered throughout Mistria each day. The tasks assigned to you may involve gathering resources or crafting items. Don’t forget to drop by the Request Board near the General Store in Mistria every single day to get your list of tasks.
You can earn recognition too, by accomplishing tasks assigned personally to you by different characters around town. Not only does this boost your reputation, but it also strengthens your bond with these individuals. Simply engage in conversation with them, and they’ll delegate tasks to you at their convenience.
Furthermore, earning Renown can be achieved by contributing to the Museum and utilizing the Shipping Bin for item transport. Interacting with Eiland at the Museum is also essential for finishing the “The State of the Mines” quest, which involves a brief chat.

When your town advances to the Stone Star Rank and a sufficient amount of time elapses, you’ll likely receive a letter containing the “Unlocking the Mines” quest.
Now all that’s left is to go meet Errol and Eiland at the entrance to The Mines in The Narrows.
Observe as the cutscene unfolds, granting you access to the initial part of The Mines, specifically the Upper Mines, within the world of Fields of Mistria!
Unlocking the Second Section of The Mines – The Tide Caverns
As you delve deeper into The Mines after sufficient exploration, you’ll eventually arrive at Floor 20 where a Water Barrier stands in your way. To bypass this obstacle and access the next area, search for and present 4 specific items (the offerings) to the barrier.
- Stone Loach x1 – Found in the Upper Mines by fishing at any fishing spot.
- Upper Mines Mushroom x1 – Big round brown mushrooms. They’re pretty rare but they can spawn anywhere in the Upper Mines.
- Ruby x1 – Gemstones mined from rock nodes that have red gems protruding from them. Very common in the Upper Mines.
- Lantern Moth x1 – An insect that doubles as a light source, found in the Upper Mines randomly. Fairly common and can be caught by using your Net.
Gather all four specified items and deliver them to the stone slab located on level 20 of The Mines. This action will shatter the Water Seal, granting you access to the subsequent part of The Mines, known as The Tide Caverns within Fields of Mistria.
Unlocking the Second Section of The Mines – Deep Earth
In my gaming adventure, as I make my way through the mysterious Tide Caverns, I’ll eventually come across Floor 40. There, I’ll find a second seal – the Earth Seal. Just like previous seals, to break this one, I’ll need to collect four distinct items and place them on the tablet. Once done, voila! The Earth Seal will shatter, paving my path forward.
- Coral Mantis x1 – A pink/purple bug found roaming randomly in the Tide Caverns. Catch it with your Net.
- Sapphire x1 – A gemstone which you can get by breaking down rocks with blue gems in the Tide Caverns.
- Archerfish x1 – This is a medium-sized fish found in the Tide Caverns. It’s pretty rare, but you just have to keep fishing at any fishing spot until you get it.
- Jade Dulse x1 – Some sort of aquatic weed which randomly spawns on the floor throughout the Tide Caverns. It seems to be extremely rare, however.
On Floor 40 of The Mines in Fields of Mistria, I’ve got some offerings for that stone tablet – complete the task and I’ll gain access to the next section, Deep Earth. As of now, this seems to be the last section, but who knows what updates might bring during Early Access?
