As a die-hard fan who’s been following these powerhouses since their Fifth Harmony days, I can confidently say that Camila Cabello and Normani are like peanut butter and jelly – they just go together! Their bond is undeniable, from their heartfelt interactions to their mutual support for each other’s successes.
Camila Cabello and Normani are better together.
For instance, At Vetements’ Paris Fashion Week show, they reunited briefly like Fifth Harmony, and could be spotted enjoying a hearty chuckle while reminiscing together in the front row.
On September 27th, Camila, aged 27, appeared nearly unidentifiable in a glittering black ski mask, teamed with a coordinating lace bodysuit, miniskirt, and long coat.
Similarly, Normani, aged 28, opted for a monochrome style as well, wearing a midi dress in solid black that revealed her coordinating lingerie beneath. To complete her all-black ensemble, she paired it with stylish, open-toe heels.
Eight years after Camila parted ways with Fifth Harmony (which originally consisted of Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui), the significant meeting transpired in 2024. After Camila’s departure in 2016, the band released one album together in 2017 before announcing an indefinite break the following year.
Still, Camila and Normani have continued to cheer on each other’s successes.
You’re skillfully unveiling a project that can be challenging and risky, but it looks fantastic,” Camila posted on Instagram in June following Normani’s release of the album ‘Dopamine.’ “Congratulations on your debut album, and here’s to many more successes in the future!
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but feel moved by your heartfelt words. In response, I expressed my gratitude with, “Thank you so very much for this heartwarming gesture. It truly means a great deal to me, and I am incredibly proud of you. You’re on the verge of greatness, let’s continue on this journey together!
Camila Cabello, known for her hit “Havana”, explained that she chose to go solo because her passion for composing personal songs wasn’t in line with Fifth Harmony’s perspective during that period.
She recounted on “Call Her Daddy” in March about rising at 7 a.m. during tour, heading to her hotel room, and then to her garage band to compose tunes. At first, she didn’t want to create with everyone around, as her fervor for writing transformed into a desire to sing the songs herself instead of offering them to others.
The singer of “Bam Bam” expressed, “As I moved away from the collective vision, it seemed they remained deeply invested. Consequently, I found myself saying, ‘I don’t feel content here any longer, it no longer resonates with me.’
Regarding Normani, who’s known for her song “Wild Side”, she once expressed that she often felt like the underdog in the group Fifth Harmony, a band that originated on the X Factor in 2012.
In an interview with Allure in 2021, she shared that she didn’t have many opportunities to showcase her singing abilities within the group, making her feel underappreciated. Essentially, it seemed like her contributions were being disregarded and she was given a fixed role.
According to Camila, they’ve reached a stable point after taking some time, she and her ex-bandmates are doing well.
She shared with Reuters in 2022 that we’ve stood by one another via messages and various means, and things are going great between us.
