Final Destination: Bloodlines First Footage Is the Perfect Tease for Fans

A sneak peek for “Final Destination: Bloodlines” has started popping up online, with the official Twitter account for “Final Destination 6” becoming active on Sunday to share a short clip from the upcoming film. This new installment revives the previously dormant series that centers around premonitions of impending deaths in tragic accidents – plane crashes, car collisions, roller coaster malfunctions, race track crashes, and bridge collapses – followed by Death tracking down those who evaded their destined demise to meet a more horrific end.

The account posted a message saying, ‘For our followers,’ together with a tense, 10-second video clip showing a ceiling fan’s blades nearly touching swinging chains, hinting at an unexpected, potentially deadly incident.

This one’s for the fans. Dying to show you more. #FinalDestination

As the storyline goes, Bloodlines centers around Stefani, who uncovers a secret from her grandmother’s past that has kept Death at bay for her family. However, this reprieve has resulted in Death systematically targeting her relatives one by one, and it is now up to Stefani to find a solution to put an end to this sequence of events.

The main actors in this production are Brec Bassinger from Stargirl, Teo Briones who is known for Chucky, Kaitlyn Santa Juana from The Flash, Richard Harmon recognized from The 100, Anna Lore featured in Gotham Knights, Owen Patrick Joyner famously seen in Julie and the Phantoms, Max Lloyd-Jones well-known for The Book of Boba Fett, Rya Kihlstedt recognized for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tinpo Lee from The Manor, and the late Tony Todd, who portrayed funeral director and Death expert William Bludworth in the 2000s’ Final Destination, 2003’s Final Destination 2, and 2011’s Final Destination 5.

Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the pair behind the 2019 live-action “Kim Possible” movie and the 2018 sci-fi thriller “Freaks”, are currently directing a script penned by Guy Busick (co-writer of “Ready or Not”, “Scream” from 2022, and “Abigail”) and Lori Evans Taylor (“Wicked Wicked Games”). The story they’re working on was jointly conceived with Jon Watts (the Spider-Man trilogy and the upcoming “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”).

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the team going by “Zadam” landed the directing role with an innovative pitch involving a staged Zoom call of their apparent demise. By utilizing pre-recorded clips and visual tricks, Lipovsky and Stein simulated putting out a fire, feigning survival after cheating death, and, in a nod to the movie “Final Destination,” one of them was dramatically decapitated by a swiftly spinning ceiling fan’s blade.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the team working alongside Craig Perry, who’s known for his work on the “Final Destination” franchise, as well as Sheila Hanahan Taylor from “Cellar Door” and Dianne McGunigle from “Wolfs”. The next installment, “Final Destination: Bloodlines”, is set to hit theaters on May 16th. If you’re a fan like me, you can catch up on the first five “Final Destination” movies (from 2000 to 2011) which are now streaming on Max!
