It took only eleven years for the Final Destination series to produce five films, but it’s been fourteen years since the sixth installment, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, made its way to cinemas. Critics are already praising this latest entry, hinting at a potential revival for the franchise. However, producer Craig Perry remains cautious about the series’ future, stating that it is too soon to predict what the next chapter of the saga might be. Regardless of critical acclaim, filmmakers will wait to see how audiences react to the sequel before deciding on its continuation. Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to hit theaters on May 16th.
Perry affirmed with ComicBook about potential future installments for the franchise, stating, “Let’s discuss it in a few weeks.” He explained that he doesn’t plan ahead to the sixth movie; instead, they focus on delivering quality work and earning the chance to talk about more films. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’, and hopes that its success continues and fans are satisfied. At the very least, his primary concern is ensuring the fans’ happiness with ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’.
In this fresh installment of New Line Cinema’s gruesome hit series, viewers are led back to the origins of Death’s skewed notion of fairness – titled Final Destination: Bloodlines. Disturbed by a haunting recurring dream, college student Stefanie embarks on a journey home to locate the individual who might halt this grim sequence of events – her grandmother, Iris – in an attempt to safeguard her family from the impending, gruesome fate that looms over them all.
Final Destination: Bloodlines” features Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd. The film is helmed by directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky. The screenplay is penned by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with a story conceptualized by Jon Watts, Busick, and Taylor, based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick.
The origins of this franchise lie within television, having started as a script for an episode of “The X-Files” by Reddick. Through time, speculations have surfaced about the possibility of “Final Destination” transitioning to TV, but Perry is now uncertain if such a change will be part of the show’s future.
The producer emphasized that if you’ve watched the movie, you understand its necessity for a theater viewing. Ideally, in the largest theater available, even better in IMAX format. He explained this is due to the vast visual spectrum crafted for the film, and the shared communal experience intensifies the humor, discomfort, shock, and overall enjoyment. Until the communal cinema experience is no longer feasible, the producer plans to prioritize a cinematic viewing of “Final Destination”.
Final Destination Bloodlines hits theaters on May 16th.
