Way back in 2000, I found myself utterly captivated by the ingeniously terrifying horror franchise, Final Destination. Its mind-blowing, death-defying sequences left audiences guessing, as one by one, the characters met their untimely ends. On a budget of just $23 million, this film managed to rake in an impressive $112 million at the box office. Since then, we’ve seen four more installments, including a 3D version, with the last one released in 2011. Collectively, these films have grossed a staggering $663 million, with the final two proving to be the most financially successful. It’s baffling why we’ve had to wait fourteen years for another. But hey, judging by the trailers, this latest installment looks just as exciting as the previous ones, and I can’t wait to see it!
It’s said that filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein demonstrated their innovative approach by creating a convincing death scene during a virtual pitch meeting with the studio, using a blend of pre-prepared video clips and special effects. This impressive demonstration secured them the job!
