The upcoming update for Final Fantasy 14 on March 25th is substantial, bringing in a plethora of new content to the widely acclaimed Square Enix MMORPG. While the prospect of fresh gameplay elements like new Main Scenario quests is thrilling, it’s the quality-of-life enhancements that come with the Seekers of Eternity patch that truly stand out. Many of these improvements have been eagerly anticipated for some time now, and they promise to streamline and smooth out the player experience like never before.
As outlined in the extensive patch notes for version 7.2 of Final Fantasy 14, the introduction of Seekers of Eternity will significantly alter dungeons by implementing a straightforward adjustment that could drastically impact gameplay. Previously, if a group lost to a boss encounter, every player was returned to the dungeon’s start, forcing them to run back to the boss, unnecessarily extending their time in the dungeon without any real justification. With this update, shortcut warps will be placed near the entrance of the boss area for players who perish during a battle against the boss, making the experience more efficient and enjoyable.
In simpler terms, these notes indicate that the new feature will be added to every dungeon prior to the upcoming patch 7.0. Since the quality-of-life feature was included in newly created dungeons during the 7.0 update of Final Fantasy 14, it can be assumed that all existing dungeons will soon acquire this much-desired feature.
As a devoted fan, let me share some exciting updates on the movement mechanics in Final Fantasy 14! Now, instead of dashing, I can maintain a Jog status effect perpetually by using Sprint. This effect can be manually deactivated and will automatically end when engaged in battle. Plus, no more stopping to summon mounts! Yes, you heard it right; players could previously only summon their steeds while stationary. These improvements are expected to streamline my journey across the game world, even if just a tad faster.
With the latest update for Final Fantasy 14, a fresh primary storyline will be introduced. This new journey kicks off with the quest “A Glimmer of the Past,” which is accessible in The Backroom upon conversing with Krile. This engaging narrative is designed for players who have reached level 100 and necessitates completion of the main scenario quest “Crossroads.” In all, this new main story unfolds across eight quests.
Alongside Seekers of Eternity, there are also fresh Chronicles of a New Era quests introduced. The initial part of this new series is called “Souls under Siege” and can be initiated by interacting with Yaana in the Solution Nine zone. It’s suggested that players who have progressed to level 100 undertake these quests, as they demand completion of the Chronicles of a New Era mission titled “The Neoteric Witch.” This new sequence consists of six quests in total.
The upcoming 7.2 update for Final Fantasy 14 brings significant changes across the board, promising an exhilarating experience when it releases on March 25. Alongside the main content, you’ll find numerous graphical enhancements and battle system adjustments.
