Final Fantasy 16 is Coming to Xbox Series X/S – Rumor

As an avid gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant worlds of Final Fantasy, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of Final Fantasy 16 gracing not just my PC, but potentially my Xbox as well!

There’s been some chatter about possibly announcing a PC version of Final Fantasy 16, sparked by Nvidia’s recent Game Ready and Studio Driver 560.81 which mention the game. It could potentially be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, but an Xbox Series X/S version might not be too far after that.

In a discussion on ResetEra about the same topic, NateTheHate stated, “Final Fantasy 16 will come to Xbox. I’m just eagerly waiting for Square Enix to make the announcement.” When questioned if there was a possibility of its announcement during Opening Night Live on August 20th, he replied, “I hope it happens as soon as possible.”

This doesn’t mean a reveal at the opening ceremony, but there may be something during Xbox @ Gamescom 2024 from August 21st to 23rd. The series of streams hosted by Microsoft will cover upcoming releases like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Age of Mythology: Retold, Atomfall, Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Towerborne, and even third-party titles like Star Wars Outlaws.

It’s not unexpected that an Xbox Series X/S announcement might occur, considering producer Naoki Yoshida hinted at plans to release on “other platforms” following the PC version. The PC version, as confirmed by Yoshida, is in its final stages of optimization, with a demo expected before its launch.
